Waterfront Tavern

Hi,

I don't know if anyone is familiar with Paizo/Gamemastery's Flip Mats. They had a Waterfront Tavern map that's out of print and was going for a god awful amount anywhere I looked. I just bought the PDF version and had it printed off on a vinyl sheet for a fraction of the cost of what the paper copies were selling for, it should be here early next week. I'm pretty excited to see how it works. I made this quest to try on it. I have a vision of a series of unrelated quests using this Tavern map as a base. I'd use this series of quests as interludes....maybe to go with GimmeYerGolds Tavern cards that allow the Heroes to go on a side quest.

I've really enjoy following along with what everyone here makes and does, so I thought I'd throw this map up here for anyone who wanted to see or use it. Since I don't have the map yet, I can't playtest it...so it may be crap.

Here is my question: Where did you get it printed? I've checked with numerous places and none of them
would be able to print on vinyl for me. I would LOVE to get a whole bunch of stuff printed on vinyl.

been wanting for a good while...just didn't know where to go to get it done.

This looks very interesting. I love that open field hunting and backstabbing and chasing virgins.
What are the areas that look like railroads (the road, level with the rest of the board, I take it) and the darkened squares in the center open area?
I get that the darkened squares in the rooms are beds?

And I also want a picture of your board, if not the file (*hint, hint*). Definitely would wanna play this quest.

Those railroad looking areas are the docks that go out into the water. Here's a picture of it:

The back of the original is just plain water, with no features.

I'm looking forward to it, I think there are countless adventures that could be made for it.

waterfront tavern quite well, I think.

I've looked at those Heroic Maps a lot in the past. I like the art on most of them, but just never pulled the trigger since I lacked a way to easily make them. If this method pans out, I may be able to get better use out if them. The second link to printers actually prints them with an adhesive back, so it might be a good option for the larger modular tiles they have. Also...until recently, unless time has vastly escaped escaped me, they only did the PDF route and did not provide the image files readily.

No, you're right for the most part. They do typically only provide PDF's. I think they offer SOME of their materials in
heavy card format...or maybe that is Inked Adventures...I forget which does that.

The map came today. I like it better than I had thought. It feels more durable than I pictured. Lays very flat with only minimal curving. I'm a bad judge of thickness...maybe....0.5-1.0mm thick. I really like it. Here's some pics, let me know if there's any specific questions I can answer.
