More things that need a TV show:
X-Men; three different series, including a solo character anthology origins series, on Netflix; 13 episodes a season.
Masters of the Universe; a cartoon, 13 episodes a season; NOT a movie; I cringe at what they've been saying about that movie over the last few years.
Lord of the Rings; a cartoon; one episode per book chapter, true to the book; admit it, we need this!
Stormwatch/The Authority/Planetary by Warren Ellis

X-men could certainly bear to be turned into a series. Several existing series ARE basically x-men anyways.
MotU: We are in a time and age where He-Man could actually bear to be made into live action again. Make it dark and adult. And be goddamn true to the original universe. Make the characters look like the original ones. Don't invent a bunch of original characters. I would look forward to a movie.
LotR: I don't know... We got the Peter Jackson movies which are really really great. Why tell the same story again again? It would need a twist to justify itself.

Also a recommendation: Watch "Cobra Kai" on Youtube Red RIGHT NOW!!!
It's literally a perfect series. As in everything works. Acting, drama, humor, story, characters.
They did the impossible and captured the magic of the original Karate Kid and made something people in 2018 would watch. It's got nostalgia and it's modern. I can't get over how great it was. A 30 years delayed continuation of the Karate Kid saga has no right being so good!
It's obvious everyone involved in the creation are huge fans (unlike "we actively try to hire people who know nothing about the franchise"-Star Wars).
The only reason you would disagree is if you for some godforsaken reason always hated Karate Kid.

I read Neal Asher - The Soldier currently.

Man that's an author! If you asked me if I would become a Haiman, I'd say yes immediately! But only if I don't look like the Borg Queen.

Definitely! Those threee movies pack everything that's wrong with Hollywood these days except sexual blackmail.

Do you think they would? They've already used a little from it. I think that Beren and Luthien stands the best chance of becoming something.

Would you settle for a a trailer? The wise read the fine print.

Actually, I'm looking forward to a new Middle Earth series starting this fall.

More on topic, I hope to read The Children of Huron as my next Tolkien book.

Looked good! Hadn't even heard. Some of (most of) my Tolkien books got misplaced during last move a few years ago (haven't opened the right box yet I guess??)

I finally finished Sword and Honor. Many great short stories in there but hard to keep picking up a book that keeps "ending" so to speak.

Now I am reading Stonehenge by Bernard Cornwell. I figured I would read a one off novel instead of starting a new series.

Actionable gamification.

About how people would do their work much more motivated if the work organisation would be like a computer game.
