Inspired by Hero Quest, a game for Android and Windows Phone

Postby nante » February 24th, 2013, 1:27 pm

Hi,
in collaboration with your italian "brothers" of heroquestforum.it, we realized a game for Android and Windows Phone called Arcane Quest.
It's a true tribute to Hero Quest, the board game, and it maintains the old spirit of the game: rolling the dice, turn based combats, secrets, traps, magics and so...

The entire game is available in english, italian, spanish and german.

If you're interested, you may find it here:
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... xquestlite

Windows Phone 7 and 8:
http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=e66 ... ade5b69b65

Oh, it's free ;)

I’ve download it for windows mobile and it plays really good. I like it! If I have to make a criticism I would say that there should be an option to swap turns between the heroes and not play them in a fixed order. The good is that you can choose that order at the start of the game when you are choosing the heroes for the quest. The other thing I could say is about the traps. I expect to disarm traps by stepping on the trap, and taking the chance to succeed or failed and lose damage. In the Arcane Quest you can disarm traps by standing on an adjacent square and roll until you make it. But it’s not a big deal.

In overall it looks like a good game and I will give for sure the 1$ for the complete edition. And I suggest to every fan of HQ to support it.

I'm playing and is really cool!
I didn't see if there is a multiplayer option. If not, would be a nice upgrade!

played it! LOVING IT!
will buy the premium version (its less than £1)
needs more equipment and special items added and one of heroquest's strongest points - the ability to make our own quests. needs more monsters than what i have seen so far.
the spells are, in my opinion, slightly better than HQ's. traps and searching are dealt with better than HQ (very similar, just handled very cleverly)
the most important thing to note is: ITS HEROQUEST! 8D

Thanks everybody for your answers!
I'm glad you like it and will try to make it even better.

2 things might come in the future:
- The Editor: It already exist, works only on Windows, it just needs better packaging. Let's say it's just a bit hard to use, but if you wish to try it out, I'll be glad to share it, you may even use it to build your custom HQ adventures.
- The Multiplayer: This is something I know would add great value to the game, but it's also quite complicated to implement. It could be a real time multiplayer, or sort of a "offline" multiplayer where all the players don't need to be connected at the same time.

If you have any idea feel free to share :)

The editor has been released and can be found at:

http://www.nexgamestudios.com/arcane-quest/

It allows the creation of full quests and it includes a publishing system to share the quest with other users.

Hope you enjoy the game :-)
