I think I would let the players roll a dice and if they would get say six with a red dice or black shield with a battle dice he stabs the yeti and it loses its hold. This wouldn't hurt yeti but it would give the barbarian another chance at killing it. Just my :2cents:

Everytime I see this topic title pass by, I think:

"Yeti in soloquest..."
"Yeti Soloquest..."
"YoloQuest!"

I think I have a name for a new game.

If you are faster and use the crossbow, you can kill the yeti(s), as far as i remember there are more than 1. Otherwise just say that the yeti just normal atks since none can help the babarian or let hinm do the 2 body pointe damage per turn, but the babarian can still at least atk, whilst not move, since, again, noone can help him...

This is an obvious glaring error that is easy to fix:
1) Remove hug ability in solo quests
2) Add mercs for solo quests, although that is no good for a starting barbar.
3) Change yeti to a Chaos Warrior.

My own solution was to send the Barbarian on the Growl of Thunder Quest first and then have him accompanied in the Solo Quests by Balash.

I tweaked the attack so the victim can fight back with fists or dagger only.
Still dangerous, but there's a fighting chance

It just occurred to me. In real life, a yeti (also known as bigfoot, sasquatch, etc.) is usually elusive. Perhaps, in this case, Zargon could act as more of a DM and make the yeti try to escape. Except when discretion permits, and then, watch out!

Do a rewrite...
Yeti holds hero in a death grip long enough for the Ice Gremlin to show up and rob warrior blind. When hero 'dies', inform the play that his hero was knocked unconscious and left bereft of all gear. The dude wakes up outside the dungeon with just enough sunlight left to escape back to town. Or the idiot can go back into the dungeon buck naked...
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Jesus, your rewrite is sadistic (and I love it). Would be more humane to let him die. You could also view it like the encounter in Empire Strikes Back and have the barbarian chop his arm off (thus preventing the hug) if he gets 2+ damage on the first attack.
I want my Mummy :mummy:

The hero can get a crossbow in B, he can run from the Yeti (difficult vs 8 move), or he can skip that room.
