I'm getting some sleeves for my cards, and I was surprised I couldn't find a topic here with card sizes. Posting this here and perhaps it will save somebody a moment

For the North American copy, my ruler says the size of the stock cards are 2 3/8" x 3 1/2" (~56mm x ~89mm) which is roughly American Board Game sized. go figure.
They might be 1/8" slimmer than the typical board game card.

Anyway, American Board Game size sleeves should work.

If you keep your cards in box, or your rarely handle them and when you do, always making sure you are gentle and have clean hands, no problem. But if you're the type of person who wants to enjoy your game and you play a lot, and sometimes grab snacks while you play, etc. the card protectors are a way to help protect the cards from extra wear and tear.

Card protector sleeves typically aren't sealed, they're just sleeves, so they're not doing anything more than keeping dust and the oil (and occasional cheeto dust) from one's hands off the cards.

Ah...I guess I just have finger oil since the games I lead lack food.

Sometimes they are hard to pick up off the table though.

Another card deck isn't that expensive. Personally I prefer them warn than new. I find sleeving a waste of plastic. They're not super rare cards from a crazy expensive collectors set. It's like those people that use to put plastic on their sofa in the 80's to keep it nice. Why buy a nice sofa in the first place, you want to experience the card in your hand, it's texture, otherwise we might as well have plastic cards.

I wonder about putting a plastic coating (like professional playing card decks) on your cards... that might serve both purposes.

Playing with nephews I really need to use sleeves if I want to protect my cards... and italian cards are very expensive, not cheaper like the english version.

Best about sleeves is you can put a normal playcard inside, and then your self printed card to the front... feels like a card, but is easily selfmade

the original eu card size is 53.7 mm x 80mm
