The Forces of fantasy is just regular old plastic.
The Grendel stuff is a much more hard and brittle resin.

Or was it? Did it really feel like regular plastic?

its funny how people think plastic and resin are 2 different things.

water - h20
turf - grass.

resin is just a name to make it sound more spiffy as plastic became a 'cheap' name for minis. ill let someone correct me who knows more about it than i. but as far as i know. both are just variations of the the same
if Gw tried to sell you 1 regular figure for 13 quid that was labelled as "plastic" a lot more eyebrows would be raised than already are.

but that aside..looking very good harry. loving that door :)

I know that resin is a kind of plastic.
But a regular plastic troop figure from GW and, say, a miniature from Zealot still are two very different things.
The "resin" I mean when I use the word is the brittle stuff that allows for more detail (at least supposedly).

To elaborate: every resin is plastic, but not every plastic is resin. At least as far as I know, which encapsulates everything you need to know when you work with the stuff. Cutting, cleaning, filing, gluing, modelling. There are differences between resin and plastic as I and most other people in the hobby refer to the two general types of stuff when working with them.

Generally, I differentiate between 4 materials. Again, this is not on a chemical basis, but on a layman's hobbyist "I need to work with it, now what do I need to know?" basis:
metal, plastic, resin, and the stuff Reaper uses for Bones.
Maybe the rubbery stuff Fantasy Flight Games and Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures use need an own category.

No idea where it came from or who made it.
No clue having examined it.
If anyone can shed any light ......
