I know this has been done before elsewhere, but here is another re-creation of "the Arena" test from the premiere edition of the EU Instruction booklet but here with the NA look.
It's official, sort-of. ;) Obviously I'm not expecting anyone to print this out on laminated board... It's like a Hero Quest "mini-game."

First Test:
Way of the Warrior:
"Mentor has provided a magical arena for you to practice moving and fighting. Use the board -- without any furniture -- for this fight to the death.

Each player character puts his model in one of the corners in the large room in the center of the board. Zargon places 5 Goblins anywhere he likes in the room. The player to the left of Zargon goes first. The last character (or monster) alive wins.

At the end of the fight the magic of the Arena restores all characters to full strength. All wounds are healed. You should practice in the Arena as many times as you need to feel confident with the Way of the Warrior. "

Note: Spells cannot be used yet.

Second Test:
Way of the Wizard:

"To try out your newly acquired magical powers you must now re-enter Mentor's Arena. The Wizard and the Elf choose their spells.
Each player puts his model in one of the corners of the large room in the center of the board. The Zargon player places 5 goblins
anywhere in the room. The player to the left of Zargon goes first. Once again it is a fight to the death. The last character (or monster) left alive wins. At the end of the fight, the magic of the Arena
restores all characters to full strength. All wounds are healed. You should practice as many times as you need to feel confident with the Way of the Wizard."

There's also a Way of the Scout, but it just seems to be a reminder to use your searching abilities, rather than an actual demo in the arena.

So despite what the picture shows, you can place your Hero characters (still in training, not yet true Heroes!) and Goblins anywhere within the room.

Somebody else did an actual tutorial type quest in a series called "the Arena," here though which is more involved (Busby Arena)
Or these from Decipher.
