I gotta say, I don't really care for the size of some of the new furniture. The tables, for example are actually smaller then the tables used in the original. The board's spaces are bigger too. On the quest map the table still takes up 6 spaces, when it can easily fit into 2. The torture rack, alchemist bench and Wizard's table don't need that much space either.
However, I find the chests to be of more accurate size now.

The new chests look great, but they not have the flattened surfaces on the top which allowed the Dwarf figure to balance perfectly on top when he was disarming them as in the original...

Another feature of the old chests I loved was the hollow bottom, that let you stick them on top of the weapons of three of the heroes (all except the dwarf) to simulate "carrying" them back to the staircase in Prince Magnus' Gold. Fun features... !

I hope Cael Darkhollow is reading this. I want to ask if it's alright if I use some of these lovely comparison shots in my upcoming review video of HeroQuest.
I don't have access to a NA set, and these comparisons are great!

I'll remember to put in proper credit in the video's description. ;)

Access granted.

I've been meaning to keep doing comparison photo threads of all expansions where I left off on the expansions (ogre horde etc.) but I did get a few done a long while ago KK and RotWL

Excellent, thanks!

Yeah I'll certainly post it here ;)
Lots of work. One of my most involved videos so far.
I may even get the one and only BARD from the video "why HeroQuest is so great!" to do a little skit for me to edit in. Fingers crossed.

OK the Frozen Horror Barbarian Quest Pack photo comparison is up. I will keep working on the rest of the vintage/re-release comparisons as time permits

Thank you for sharing these. Now only ATOH is left to compare! (until such time as we get a remake of WOM... here's hoping)
