In Kellar's Keep there are rooms filled with monsters.
The Base Game is slowly ramping the difficulty, with one or two exceptions, and stays a little under the hero level, but that's okay. The game is intended for 10 year old people like me.
For adults, you can ramp the base game up a bit, that's true.
