If a hero (For example Barbarian) buys for ex. a Staff, can barbarian change his weapon as he likes during a quest? As Sword :arrow: Staff :arrow: Sword.

My groups play it as: They choose which weapon to attack with. That remains their equipped weapon until their next turn.

That's how we played too, but it just doesn't feel right that they can change it all the time, if you kwow what i mean :?

This is not bad… A hero can shoot with his bow when the enemy is far, hit diagonally if he can’t reach his enemies, and finally draws his spirit blade to kill the undead… he is a war machine, but if he can afford the cost for all these items, why not? Of course, if GM wants to, I wouldn’t have a problem to play with one weapon per quest.

Yeah, i'd say that if he changes the equipment, it would take his turn. If he takes a sword, he can move, but not attack or cast spells. :p 'Cause it takes some time to change that weapon. :ugeek:

In our games you choose which equipment you wear at the beginning of the quest. If you find new equipment during the quest you have the option to swap immediately.
At the very least I think it should cost a turn to swap. The swiss army knife seems OP in my opinion.

The idea is that the player should choose what equipment is the best for his play style.

In my rules, changing the weapon in your main hand costs two movement points.
Attacking before moving means you have to use the weapon in hand.
Loading the crossbow is three movement points.

I would play it with my group as such: You can change between weapons, but it costs either your movement
or your action for that turn.

And in case you were going to ask this: You can change between armors, but each armor takes a different amount
of time...plate mail being the longest, at a full three turns (if I remember correctly...I forget exactly what I had
written down for that).
