looks like all of the painted minis are the metal prototypes rather than the plastic released versions. I wish I had that wall chart. what are it's exact dimensions?
if it wasn't included in a game box it could be a game store promotional handout of some sort.
I wonder if the free poster was actually printed and distributed.
Clearly due to the games shown this was only available in Europe

Now I'm curious: were painted versions of the plastic HeroQuest miniatures ever shown in promotional materials?

All the painted examples I remember seeing (by Mike McVey) were the metal prototypes, even in the HQ box/booklet itself. The same thing happened with Space Crusade. As a kid I was puzzled by the slight differences in poses, and by the round bases on the minis on the back of the HQ box. At that age I didn't know there was such a thing as a 'metal prototype'.

To be precise, it suggests Morcar looks like the metal prototype of the Chaos Warlock. You can't use your plastic Chaos Sorcerer HQ mini for him. It's not allowed! Only the owner of a rare metal mini can claim to own the real Morcar!

Amusingly this also suggests that all the other Chaos Sorcerers admire Morcar so much they dress exactly like him. Not very Chaotic, really...

It is when they all do their laundry at the same time.
