Here is a list of the Artifact locations from Japan's Game System (as converted by awesome people like bastianbux, majikayo, AeryB, DerfelLink and others on these forums, great work by the way!) popularly known to us as "Rise of the Chaos God."

Talisman (or Amulet) of Life (Quest 4, reward for completing Quest 3)
Ancient Scroll (Quest 4)
Dragon Eye (Quest 5)
Flame Axe (Quest 8)
Staff (or Rod) of Memory (Quest 11)
Silver Blade (Quest 12)
Freeze (or Frost) Bow (Quest 13)

Again, this is based on the interpretation of the Japanese Game System, as in the following file obtained from this thread and also here. |_P |_P |_P |_P |_P

Edit: The above was based upon bastianbux's adaptation of the Japanese HeroQuest into NA format with some modified details and editorial modifications. When he left the forum he requested his file be taken down so I have removed it.

If you are using HispaZargon's translation (which is intended to be more true to the original rather than an adaptation to another ruleset), you will find instead:

Talisman of Lore (reward for completing Quest 3)*
Flame Axe (Quest 8)
Wand of Recall (Quest 11)
Silver Blade (Quest 12)
Freeze Bow (Quest 13)

* The Talisman of Lore in this version of the game doesn't boost mind points, but instead brings one (or multiple) dead heroes back to life (but they lose any gold they have), and can be used over and over again.

Have you played these Japanese quests Kurgan? I was initially thrilled to find new official stuff, but afterwards I wasn’t sure what to make of it all. I had a quick look through and it all looks very odd. There are quite a few spelling mistakes (which I can completely live with if the content is good), but there doesn’t seem to be enough monsters to raise a sweat for the Heroes, the main sorcerer is called Borough (really?), and the final quest is missing a door.

Quest 7 and maybe one or two others look like they could be fun though.

I played the first three quests using the NA rules with some friends using some brand new (and slightly weaker) Heroes I had created and it seemed to go pretty well. Quest 7 looks pretty tough, so I figure the challenge will be fine. As for missing a door, I fixed that and printed out a replacement, so should be okay. I'd love to finish it someday...

I am using a lot of different house rules with this... Potions deck, Evil Wizard deck, Combat Cards, expanded armory, the aforementioned custom heroes, and an upgrade system (by the time they hit Quest 7, they will have stronger dice rolls for example with the colored german dice and some bonus potions, spell scrolls, etc).

You can always tinker with it to your liking, it's a base for new ideas. ;) I was looking over "A Plague of Zombies" earlier today and thinking how difficult it would be. Though my Paladin might be up to the task once he hits champion or knight level (starts with a bunch of Holy Water vials).

Beefing them up for quest 7 is a good idea, but what happens after that? Quest 8 and beyond will become a cake walk again, won’t it?

The upgraded Heroes also have to contend with my upgraded monsters...

The Monsters get upgraded like this:

For Game System monsters (not counting Wandering Monsters or summoned Monsters), when they appear I roll 1 white die, if a black shield, then they're an "elite" which attacks with Black Dice and defends with Blue. This is when all of the Heroes are Champion level (5 Quests completed). When they're Knight level (10 Quests completed) the Monsters get a chance for an "elite" with Blue Dice (so twice as likely).

Boss Monsters get access to two new Combat type cards:

"Chaotic Defense" = able to defend with Blue Dice for the rest of the Quest
"Monster Shield" = swap places with one of their goons in order to avoid damage (single use)
