Ye Olde Inn

This took me about four days, and is as complete as my limited finances will allow.

Each tile was printed in high-quality and on cardstock. I then sprayed two layers of matte sealant on them. Next came two layers of mod podge, that I rolled on with a brayer. I then cut them out, applied white-glue to their backs using a sponge-brush, and stuck them to cut-to-fit pieces of mounting board. These pieces were then stuck to cut-to-fit pieces of peel-and-stick magnetic sheets.

I bought a 24"x36" sheet of 26-gauge steel, and painted it with outdoor vinyl house-paint.

I do now actually have every single tile from every Quest Pack built and ready to use, I am just rather lazy when it comes to taking photos. If there is interest, I will get around to building out and snapping shots of any Quest.

Building one of these is not really that hard, and not very expensive. I lucked out and was given a gift-card to Hobby Lobby to expend for mine.

You will need:

Color Printer (I was able to print off all the tiles using one cartridge of color. Print them using adobe acrobat, high-quality, and under advanced settings let the printer determine color settings, and unclick the setting to save black)

You'll need at least 24"x30" worth of the following, just for the rooms and hallways, they are listed in the sizes I was able to find them in:
8.5"x11" white cardstock
8.5"x11" peel and stick magnetic sheets ($3.99 per)
24"x36" 26-gauge steel sheet ($19.99)
16"x24" Mounting board, or chipboard ($3.99 per)

Tools:
Glue
Sponge brush (as always)
SHARP hobby knife

Additional tools that I used:

More sponge brushes
Fiskar's Sliding Paper Cutter
Krylon Spray Matte Sealer

Brilliant idea! Not sure thought if i would take that much hassle ... But still worth trying for! Best would even be with magnetic hirst arts mold!

I have a ridiculous number of HA molds, actually. I like this better because of the original artwork for the board itself.

If I had a group that I played with, I would certainly do this. I've thought about it before. And I would
certainly have to have any furniture pieces and outside 3-d dungeon pieces set up with magnets, as well.
I doubt you would want to go through the trouble of re-doing anything. It would be really neat to have room
between the rooms and corridors and such for 3-d walls...if you had enough of those for the whole board.

If not, then, ah well...not worth doing. It'd be silly having only half a walled dungeon.

I like the idea, stops the pieces sliding about.
Could be done with velcro too for those on a real tight budget.

I priced velcro, actually. Magnets still turned out to be cheaper.

I'm happy to live in an age where magnets are cheaply available

Now that is good news, I priced the same kind of idea a few years back and it was extortionate.

I also went magnetic. The magnet itself was really cheap.
