The Frozen Horror Board

Postby Maike05 » May 11th, 2013, 7:15 pm

Hi Guys, Here is a new board for our beloved HeroQuest to use with the Frozen horror Quest pack. Just print it online and it should be fine :barbarian:

Nice work man! But you should have at least rotated or mirrored a couple of rooms for variety.

I don't know if it's a good idea, but how about putting the overlay tiles from the game into some of the rooms.

That's really good as it is, but if you were minded to, there are a tonne of frosty ways you could make each room unique.

I quite like it. There are certainly things that could be done to spice it up, but as it stands,
it is a great addition to the boards available...and makes a lot of sense to use this for that
particular quest pack. As someone else said...can't believe no one has done that yet.

Thank you guys, glad you like! For the moment i'll leave it as is, i think it is a good start.

However, I've been thinking how to add some variations and maybe i'll let some of the original board shows up beneath with darker tones. In addition, i've looked at fozen horror tiles but there is not much i can use. Still i could add some bones, sword, etc here and there. On the other side i could also create some new tiles overlays like a fozen river with the existing tiles.. Any ideas are welcome :)

Great job, Maike05! While I look forward to a reworked version, this one is a great addition, as is. Thanks!

One tile that springs to mind is an ice/snow bridge (maybe it spans a crevasse). Just brainstorming here, but how about icicle tiles that are basically falling block traps? You could also make blocked squares of snow/ice in place of the stone ones. A snow-covered stairway tile might be cool. For that matter, KK-stlyle stairway sections could be useful. Icy trap doors and secret doors could be done as tiles. If you wanted to go more 3D, make an icy door. A Wall of Ice could be useful that either fit into a standard door base or one of the WoM spell-effect wall bases (oh, wait--that's been made for WoM). Perhaps another thin ice tile, with some overlaying crack squares, or a thin ice tile over a river. A cold blast room? A fire and ice room containing a volcanic chute? Ooh! And an avalanche tile!
