You can still vary them. Real skeletons are seldom pure white, but rather light brown or yellow. This is not to say that your skeletons are "false", human bones can be white when very fresh or when bleached by long exposure to hard sunlight (desert) or seawater. I just mean, you can use other colors for variety. You also could vary the scythes (copper blade, black handle etc.).
