Miniature Modifications

Postby Jaguar69 » March 14th, 2011, 12:14 am

Just found this cool set of HQ mod miniatures while doing a bit of searching:

http://the-lost-and-the-damned.664610.n ... 15542.html

Really like the way he has done the Mummy and the Elf with bow. |_P

I wonder when people actually cut the figs of the HQ bases, do they keep the bases as I could really do with some of these to repair and mod some of my own miniatures while keeping the same feel of HQ.

That's exactlly what I do with my HQ miniatures ! Very cool to custom. You have also this site
http://dominique.signoret.perso.sfr.fr/technic.html
It explains to you how to make figures by yourself. Very technical but also very interesting.
Take a look.

I wanted to show you something but didn't want to create a new topic. I think here is appropriate. I always had the idea of orcs carrying shields with the sign of the black shield from the dice and now I've created one with greenstuff I thought I'd share it with you. Be gentle with me though as it is my virgin attempt with greenstuff.

I love it!
Gives that ork an extra defence dice. make it a magic shield to increase the power of the ork.

I think that orc should automatically block 1 additional skull rolled against him in each attack. As he is waling around with a black shield and that is what they do. :)
But very awesome what you did. I look forward to your future posts, as if this is your first attempt there will most likely be improvements and that will make it super awesome!

Thanks but don't expect anything greater than that. My precision with greenstuff probably will increase in the future but I've already run out of cool ideas.
I feel good that I've never seen this kind of shield on an orc before (although maybe there is somewhere on the net) but it's about as original as it can get from me.
The next things will probably be a bow and quiver for the elf or a thing on top of the wizard's staff...
We 've seen them a million times over but I can't think of anything better.

I am soooo jealous of Mortis the Lost (from the first link) for having so many standard miniatures...AND for his bravery when it comes to chopping them up and putting them together in new awesome ways. I would not have the b@lls to do that, not by a longshot

Well, I return after some months with this one. It's a heroquest elf moded to look as much as possible like a character named Drizzt from d&d fantasy.
I had never heard of him but a friend of mine really likes him so I gave it my best shot. here it is:
