Great job on that Mercenary, I love the colour scheme. I remember painting mine was a bit of a chore too. You could break it up a bit, with every 3 mercs completed you could treat yourself (and us) to a Wizard of Morcar. Or a doofus ;)

Cheers, Pancho! No dice regarding those Wizards of Morcar, however, as I still don't own any of those models. My men-at-arms are from the "Advanced Quest Edition".

The good news, however, is that you won't have to wait long for Grak, as I have been painting him this afternoon...

...and he's just about finished:

As always, let me know what you think! :)

I really like this one. He has a lot of character with his rummy nose and funny hat. Is that the shield from the chaos marauders set?

Ah I didn’t remember that you don’t have the Wizards of Morcar models. I’m sure they’ll be yours soon if you keep a lookout. I have the Wizards but could only find a few men-at-arms when I dug out my Heroquest stuff from storage a few years back. So I made up the numbers with a few Advanced Heroquest guys too, plus some other Warhammer Imperials.

ahh some fab stuff in here, really love your Witchlord, Ragnar, really love what you have done with the mummy to create a champion, so simple but all look fantastic, great work.
also loved seeing how you have literally gone through all of them building upto now doing the more bespoke monsters (not sure ive seen the gargoyle pop up yet though :P)

great work overall. ill be following this one and cant believe it skipped past me already.
oh and i love the little photographic setup with old key and ye olde map styled folder is it?

once again amazing stuff and keep up the great work |_P

Cheers for the kind words, guys! :)

@ Pancho: Haha, the nose was a bit of a spontaneous idea, but I am glad you like it! The shield did indeed come from the old plastic Chaos Marauders set.

@ Weltenlaeufer: Thanks a lot, mate! :) Fun fact, Grak only really took about an hour to paint, minus drying time. Quick fun, indeed! ;)

@ Ampersand: Thanks a lot, Ampersand! Your blog was an important point of reference when I started painting my HeroQuest set, so I appreciate your comment all the more! :)

And yeah, the Gargoyle already made an appearance a couple of pages back, but just in case, here he is again:

So, I added some finishing touches to the last two models I painted this weekend:

Grak is now officially finished and has been varnished:

And here he is next to his dear old father Ulag, both ready to be slain by an enterprising group of heroes ;)

As for my Man-at-Arms, I realised the guy wouldn't really qualify as a proper test model without the different weapon alternatives, so I quickly painted those as well:

Cheers again, ampersand! Regarding the photo background, that's actually no folder, but rather the cover of the official Final Fantasy XII hint book ;)
