Female adventurers minis

Anyway I hated his pose for many years when I was young because he is the only one Hero that seems relaxed and not ready to engage a combat!

I also thought the same through years... but today I love the Dwarf miniature.

I didn't dislike the pose. Yes, he's not as "battle ready" but I took it as a sign of arrogance (maybe a little over-confidence) or else he was just taking a breather, perhaps contemplating how he was going to disarm a trap or carry all that loot out of the dungeon.

The picture of the painted mini above looks cool, but I'm not sure it feels like it really fits as a female Dwarf to me. I have a few custom minis and Reaper bones plastics that I use, and I guess I favor the ones where she's kind of on the chunky side, with short, squat features and similar looking gear to the classic male Dwarf. Not saying they have to be identical (I think the female Barbarian from BQP looks great, though the female Elf from EQP looks a little underwhelming). It's not so much the armor (who says Dwarves can't wear armor??) it's the size and proportions. That's judging by that one pic of course, which is mostly from the side.

I don't think the HQ Dwraf is a bad sculpt at all, but I agree he has very different proportions even with other Citadel Dwarves. He has almost no legs and his feet are way bigger than others.

One day, lad, you'll learn to wait for the right time to attack. Rushin' into battle's a good way to be lured into an ambush. If'n ye lure them in and strike when the time be right, they never know what hit 'em. Any fool can swing a swing a sword or an axe. A veteran learns when to do it, if he lives that long.
