I did. Got stuck in the middle of the third one. Looking for stuff to make them pop more, like armor pieces and helmets. Dwarven Kings worthy. Maybe there's something in the Mantic skeletons sprues or Vampire Counts or Chaos Dwarves or what the hell.
If not, I have two possibilities:
A) taking a deep breath or two and fiddling around with very tiny amounts of green stuff
OR
B) starting from scratch

Courtesy of chaoticprime, who I got 4 Dungeons & Dragons Dwarf Skeletons from, the playing pieces are accounted for, so building paintable ones is not top priority.
But the modded heroes you can see in the gallery will be exercising mannequins.
The Elf told me he's already looking forward to it.
...
...
I used so many words again.

I REALLY REALLY need to work on small details. The eyes are horrible. Also, highlighting in the right steps.
All three pictures are examples for photography showing you every miniscule mistake.
On the tabel, all those minis look much much better, especially the Minotaur, the Chaos Hound, and the Minotaur.
Horrible pictures.

Zombie looks good. in my opinion need some sort of dark red dribbling down his mouth to show the fact that he nom nom noms on peoples brains. Minotaurs look good. Hell hound could benefit from some drybrush highlights on its mane and tufts behind its front paws. Viking Barbarian looks bland. The flying-thing/dragon could also take some highlighting along its spine. Closeup photos will bring up every minor detail but it'll help you see all your minor mistakes, even when you can't see it on the table. For me I then think on how/why those errors happened and how to fix/avoid them next time. Already better than a lot of the rainbow raped color scheme I so often see online.

good stuff man ive gotta question though....that minotaur....whats in his hand? a spanking paddle? lol

if you are sruggling with eyes try this.
paint the eye with bleached bone (white is too bold)
paint the pupil in desired colour. dont worry too much i you slipped on these 2 steps.
then paint the skin around the eye to define its shape better.
youll get a nicely shaped eye then.

problem i used to find was my eyes were all over the place. just dont worry about slipping too much as tidy up work can be done :)

once again great stuff dude . love seeing people paint up their figs :)

Having painted some chaos marauders recently, I'd say that you've put too much paint on this guy. Try taking some time between coats and take your time. Seriously, it was not that long ago with your previous ones and now you've come back with 7 more (different) figures? It's way too fast in my opinion.
Also, I know you know that I mean no offence at all so I can say that the red chaos warrior has to be repainted. He doesn't match the others' level of painting I think. Maybe a black/dark wash can rescue him?

The hound on the other hand is awesome. Is that the GW chaos warhound? I had no idea they are that big, I wanted to get some of those myself.

Yes, that's a chaos hound from GW. The most spectacular sculpt. Great minis, really.
No, it's not a spanking paddle. It's a spanking paddle ENGRAVED WITH GOLD. |_P
The Chaos Warrior looks so much darker on the table than in this picture! Washed him red, gonna re-wash him black.
The flying thingy I wanted to look like his skin "swallows" every ray of light. I don't know if it looks beautiful, but did I reach that goal?
The barbarian... first time flesh. *lemony goodness* my pants before, during and after. Other things worked well, like the bronze applications. I don't know why he looks so bland, the skin looks much better in real life. Used base color and two highlights and am, well, not satisfied, but also not horrified. The skin on him is the one thing conveyed in the worst way by the picture.
Also, the mane is supposed to be deep deep black. I drybrushed it with a very dark grey. I will probably both it with another highlight, but I'll try on the next black fur mini.

The eyes. Did it exactly as described. Didn't work every time. Maybe it's the brush.
The blood on the zombie is missing because I wanna try a specific paint I don't have yet, Tamiya red.

Thanks for the praise, guys. It means a lot for any new painter, and I am SO open fot it. Without the talents and eyes of y'all I wouldn't even have thought about starting to paint. I just knew you'd have my back. I mean, praise coming from ampersand to me, that's just an honor that almost makes me cry a wee widdle, you know.
Thanks even more, in all seriousness, for the critique, IB and tasoe.
I understand the points really good. These minis won't probably be used in my game as they are wild and bold trial-and-error objects.
Except the fimir and the chaos hound.

What's gonna be used are 300 or 400 other minis. So I need to be fast. As the monster types are gonna be done in batches, i think I'm fast enough already.
Going to put some more work in the details now.
THEE most annoying thing for me is starting with thin basecoats that have to be repeated. A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G ! I know it has to be done, but I tend to lose patience when the basecoat color is so wet that it blurts all over the recesses and I have to suck it way again with my brush and put somewhere else where it wouldn't stick.
I understand it's just my patience that's the problem, but...

any tips for thinning paint? I use the new Citadel paints mostly and thin them with water.
