Everybody love painted minis!

Postby Goblin-King » January 21st, 2012, 12:16 pm

I always enjoy seeing other people's painted minis, so thought it was about time I shared some of my own.

I've tried to paint them like the the official artwork to make it easier for new players to distinguish the minis from each other.
Seriously! My buddy's girlfriend was confused because some orcs had different coloured clothes!

Feel free to shoot down with harsh critique
Enjoy-

spiffy
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Very nice !! I too like the look of the Chaos Warrior. And the fine line detailing done, like the symbols on the Wizard and also the Chaos Wizard.

Actually the marble effect and the cracked helmet weren't that hard. The hard part were all the little white triangles and especially the fire on the chaos warlock.
And also the barbarians boots because they are so badly defined!!!
And the mummy because it's just bandages... No details...
Studying my own pics I'm not really satisfied with the skeleton's face and the small skulls on the warlock. Oh well... :)

I'll post more when I get them painted.

Having painted myself a chaos warlock just like that I would agree that the triangles was a pain in the ass.
The small skulls that worry you, I think they look great.

The skeleton's face you mentioned looks fine, maybe it's not a good idea to make its teeth stand out this much.

It's exactly the teeth I want to improve on! 8-)

I made the fimir brown like in the Kellar's Keep book, but I don't really like it. I'm gonna make the fimirs classic green. That's also more along the lines of my idea of making them recognizable for new players.
I guess the brown fimir will make a good boss or something. I seem to recall a fimir casting rust. I'll post it when it's finished, along with a green version.

The gargoyl is on it's way. I had an old painted model with green grass on the base... REALLY fitting for a dungeon right?
It's in the process of getting a base make-over.
