Making the Indigest Digest...

Postby gravaillon » July 19th, 2012, 7:19 am

Advanced Heroquest is a wonderful game system... All fan have dreamed about a level up system for HQ, a solo mode, a lot of treasures, many monsters...etc... And Advanced Heroquest have all of those things !

But the system is very unpleasant :
- no cards
- Too many dices to roll to generate dungeon, monsters and objects
- A havy rulebook full of hazard tables which take the place of cards decks and special dices...

Why Games Workshop has allowed a low budget for developping this game? That's why they have done Warhammer Quest years after, to correct all the dark point of AHQ.
But the advanced heroquest game system is much more better than warhammer quest's system.

So, I have work... Work a lot... But I have translated all the hazard tables of the rulebook to cards decks, tiles and cardboards.
A pdf of 51 pages, full of colour and illustrations here :
http://lessouterrainsoublies.fr/AdvancedHeroQuest/ahqluxe.pdf

The game is now simple and fun to play ! All can discover the greatest dungeon crawl of all time !
Comments are welcome.
If someone interested for english translation, I can do it...

Take a look at my Solo Play thread. Been to France several times, never to Angers, what are the Gastronomic Specialities down there?

Nah, you can do better than that! What is the Vin du Region, Fromage du Region, Viande du Region.

I think the beer would be gastronome enough if it were a specialty of the region!
I wouldn't tell you about 'Molson Export' from canader, cos it's just frikkin run of the mill beer.

But I WOULD tell you to try and find: http://www.theworldofgord.com/2009/05/beer-of-week-may-24-maudite.html
Now that can taste like deer piss or good strong wheat bread soaked in alcohol, depending on how sober you are.
You might also try the milder (but still 9%)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Fin_du_Monde_(beer)

When I was in Japan, I came across the equivalent of this:
Image although it was from Mexico instead of the states. HOT 'n' SPICY beer!

I am wondering how he knows what deer piss tastes like....

:P
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

well, if he is a hunter...I understand that some hunters will use deer urine when hunting to
mask the human smell - could accidentally ingest some, I suppose.

There is also the good old fashioned habit of new hunters kissing a certain part of the deer
on their first kill....never did that myself, mind you, but I've heard about it.

.....
.....

And on that note - this is a heroquest forum...are we supposed to say something more along
the lines of "goblin piss" or "ogre piss" or something fantastical like that?

wow this thread derailed pretty fast!

Also did you all know that chimpanzee feces doesn't smell bad the way human feces does?
I heard this form a biologist who examined chimp feces all day long.

Now you know...

well - since we're already talking about deer genitalia and monkey poo
...
rabbit litter boxes can smell just as bad as an out house, if not cleaned regularly.
(hmm...not sure if I should post that one or not - doesn't put me in a good light, does it?)
