Graeme, the AHQ Undead Supplement was an interesting read. It seemed to focus a lot on 'Alignments' and I noticed quite a few actions that reduced Fate Points.

Some of the 'Dark Wizard' spells seemed rather harsh with their effects.

Certainly the "Steal Life" spell was probably meant to be using a [D6] because the Hero doesn't seem to be given a 'save roll' against the spell effects. (It was also likely missing allowing 1 Fate Point to negate.)

AHQ usually prefers to use D12 notation since it's supplied with 12–sided dice. Had "Steal Life" used the D12, it would certainly steal a Heroes life on a high roll... For example, even the hardiest fully trained veteran melee Heroes (7 Wounds at full health) would have to use up several Fate Points per each Wound lost.

The spell "Beam of Chaos" suffers from a similar issue albeit it allows the use of 1 Fate Point to negate. Therefore, I assume the intention was 2D6 for this spell, i.e. 2 to 12 Wound damage.

Therefore, in other words those two Spells were designed to nearly force your hand to burn through Fate Points.

Some possible typographical errors:

(Undead Monsters)
follow and evil Wizard, --> an

(Dark Wizards)
give full drtails --> details
withing 12 squares --> within
nest exploration --> next (typo occurs twice)

(Other New Monsters)
The are slightly weaker --> They
cannot scape --> escape

(The Quest Machine, Part 4)
entrance e to --> entrance to
[3]Quests --> Quests
World's Edge mountains --> Mountains

(Part 5: Necromancer's Lair and Evil City)
brought to and end --> brought to an end
a Undead --> an Undead

(Part 6: Overrun Necropolis and Vampire's Stronghold)
[4]Players' --> Players'

(New Equipment)
hsave the time --> have

Other notes:
Heinrich Lowen --> Löwen (I believe for AHQ it takes the German spelling of the surname)

For the "Garlic" section I am not sure if it's meant to say: "suffers".

Regarding the non–artefact like Magical Weapons there tends to be a lot of instakills that seems to trivialise the threat of Daemons. And even automatically destroying of the more powerful forms of undead, e.g. Vampire Lords – outright slain. Surely it was only meant to affect the regular undead rather than the higher ranks, or named character monsters. It's nice for the hero, but for the GM and their most potent pawns lieutenants not so much fun...

Potentially: Tragic news! Heinrich Kemmler, was killed in a terrible accident involving a loaded crossbow and a lowly 'Bolt of Life'.

The 'Giant Snake' (Strength: 6) should probably be doing: 4 Damage Dice, not 3. Presumably it's physically attacking via natural means, e.g. Fangs.

The 'Lesser Vampire' gets somewhat cheated (Fists: 3 Damage Dice) with not being able to use Fangs, which would have given it 6 Damage Dice – it has been gifted immense (Strength: 8).

As a great surprise, Mr. Graeme Davis has found in his personal old archive more documentation about another unreleased supplement for Advanced Heroquest! This time it is titled as Advanced Heroquest Companion.

He has already posted in his website the first of a three article series about this supplement, which you may find here:

First post of the thread has been updated, accordingly.

Many thanks to Graeme about all this unexpected new material!

It seems logical that there could have been a primarily wooden staff option. I'm not sure if I'd agree with the Critical and Fumble range albeit it is a large weapon so could probably follow the suggested profile. It's basically following the Spear for damage, but somehow the "staff" has a greater Fumble and Critical chance than a spear, which I find slightly odd.

However, I suspect at (Strength: 12) the staff should actually do: 9 Damage Dice, not 8. Not like any normal sized humanoid Hero could naturally reach 12 Strength anyway regardless.

It's quite impressive Graeme's Advanced Heroquest archives have survived this long.

As far as Mr. Davis has declared, only one article lasts to reach the end of this new series.
