I can only speak English and bad English I'm afraid, but I can draw, paint and do nearly anything artistically.

I probably should've asked this in this thread first, but is the effort to translate the Japanese version of the game still going? I have a contact who can help with an accurate translation, if you guys want. >.>;

Not at the moment I guess, no. But you can make it go ;)

drathe wrote:Once it is all completely translated, I will indeed create a full quest book for them. Rule book too. And post everything on the Homepages. I still have to add the original Japanese scans to the Japanese homepage... among other things... :bites-lip:

drathe has quite a backlog of projects to work on, so bastianbux's localization has provided the fix for those wanting a translation to play now. Only drathe knows, but if a translation from someone skilled in Japanese was provided, I imagine it would get the project prioritized toward the front of the to-do list (there's also the Brazilian adventures to translate). Many of us would appreciate downloading the original, unchanged Japanese rules and Quests. AerynB's and Malcadon's efforts are proof of this and may make things easier for your friend. So if you can get your friend on board to translate--great! The offer is welcome, and your friend should expect to be credited for his effort.

I'm actually in the process of reformatting all of Aeryn's text into a document that imitates the layout of the actual rulebook so I can show it to my contact. I plan to do something similar for the questbook and cards, but I felt the rulebook was the hardest thing to get out of the way, so I did it first. :D

While I'm at it, I'll take this moment to mention that so far I am absolutely fascinated by just how much effort went into localizing the game for Japanese audiences. It reminds me of all the old Japanese video RPGs I love so much. Despite some of the blandness, I think I might like this version better than the US or UK versions! The additional rules and stuff make it seem really accessible for n00b players. Hell, maybe once this translation project picks up steam again I can convince Lurchbrick to add Japanese stuff to his Vassal module. :mrgreen:

majikayo already came a good way, but has been AWOL since finishing quest 8. Your friend can maybe verify everything that M's done, though I personally don't consider it necessary as everything sounds coherent up to there, and then go on from quest 9. That would be awesome.

I'm prolly gonna get him to do Quests 9-14 first, then go back and do Quests 1-8 for clarification's sake. Maybe I'll change that. Right now only the rulebook is underway.
