Hello. Welcome. I see that you're new here and I don't want to bombard you with a request so soon, but you mentioned Japanese, and well, I think the community is rather desperate. See, a Japanese version of HQ has been found and its quest and rules and storyline seem so much different than the original quests we're all used to. Efforts have been made to translate and remake the quests, but we only got through 8 of the 14. I don't think anyone's quite sure where the volunteer translator went. I've been doing a little with online translators, but I don't think they're very accurate. What's also frustrating is that I'm trying to copy/paste the text from the pdf scans and because of pixelation, I don't think I'm always getting the correct kana.
I wouldn't want you to do the whole thing, but if I gave you a rough google translation, do you think you could look at it and go, "you're close, but this better," or "you're way off base, steer clear of online translators"?

Again, sorry if I'm bombarding you with something you're not interested in. I just started drooling a little when you said you know Japanese. Hope you understand.

No worries. I'm more than happy to look at it and help. Because I don't have proficiency in Japanese, I'll be using character and grammar dictionaries to reference everything. The trick with Japanese is that it is a very "phrasal" language and features a lot of subject-dropping. Machine translations get mixed up because there is often no subject info, or because there are actually 3 or 4 sentences in one. I'm an intermediate level linguist, so I can at least help piece together where phrases are starting and ending. I saw part of a Japanese translation effort, which is actually what pushed me to join.
I'm going to fall off of the planet for about 2 weeks, as I'm attending a convention next week. After that, I can start looking at the Japanese material. I expect it'll be slow going, but I would like to work on it.
