Here's a little variation of the Evil Wizard deck idea but just using the treasure deck! (For reference, here is the Evil Wizard deck: https://english.yeoldeinn.com/downloads ... wizard.pdf)
~ ~ ~
Heroes draw from the Treasure deck as usual, but on the Evil Wizard’s turn, if there are no active monsters on the board, the Evil Wizard player gets to draw a card…
• Wandering Monster - Place the quest’s Wandering Monster next to any Hero. It attacks immediately! Return the card to the bottom of the deck.
• Hazard! (Hidden Arrow) - Choose any Hero. A hidden arrow strikes that Hero, and they lose 1 Body Point. Return the card to the bottom of the deck.
• Hazard! (Floor Gives Way) - Choose any Hero. Place a pit trap tile under that Hero, and they lose 1 Body Point. Return the card to the bottom of the deck.
• Gold, Gem or Jewels - Choose any Hero. That Hero loses as many gold coins as shown on the card. Return the card to the bottom of the deck.
• Potion of Healing, Defense, Strength or Heroic Brew - Keep the card. Apply the effect to any regular Monster you activate next. Then return the card to the bottom of deck.
Flavor descriptions are up to the Evil Wizard Player and these reminder notes would be needed as an extra paper insert for the EWP, but I thought this could increase tension for a quest without adding an extra deck of cards. What do ya think?
*Edit: on the suggestion of a BGG user, I amended the treasure and potion cards to be returned to the deck, so as not to penalize searching more than necessary *
