Ha! Yes, here's a link to the most recent link to download the Parley with Lone Monster cards, (i have some revisions on the way, as always!) and included are brief rules on how they work: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3124&p=59467&hilit=parley#p59467

I had considered special rules for different monsters, but in the end it was easier to leave the stipulation at "regular monster" rather than any specific type, and this (happily) puts the burden on me as the Game Master to improvise a parleyed encounter with said zombie (perhaps retains some memory of life) or even a gibbering pile of ooze has some personality that can be parleyed with! The card says the result, but as the narrator I can roleplay how a zombie might have that conversation!

Ah, lots of cards. :D I'll check that out tomorrow when I nip to the library because I haven't got a lot of credit left and I'm a cheapskate. :)

Maybe you could just rule that you can't parley with a monster with 0MP?

Thanks for taking a look! n_n As you are in the interest of rule making yourself, I'm sure you'll understand my excitement at completing another revision of these cards! hehe!

But as far as allowing a parley with the undead, I'm a sucker for the drunk skeleton in Last Unicorn, as that was a clear parley move there! (with the aid of illusionary wine, no less!)

Throwing weapons are only lost if you roll all black shields on your attack roll but otherwise can be recovered after no more monsters in sight by moving to the target square (or automatically when the area is searched).

Simple
:skull: = one hit
:blackshield: = one hit & pushback

Much simpler than that... A lost weapon is found if the room or corridor it was used in is searched.

This way it doesn't break the wording of the original rules, the weapon IS lost until you search. As Heroes can't search in the presence of Monsters no need to word the "no more... in sight".

If you missed it wouldn't be at the target square so fixes that too, especially as the original mechanics cares not for specific squares when searching, why change it now.

Ok but your version doesn't allow for a thrown weapon to be unrecoverable in any circumstances which was intended. Valid point about the "no more in sight" piece but the problem with not having a target square is when the throwing occurs in a passageway rather than a room as the search rules are less clear (to me)

Thrown weapons are lost if you miss (roll all shields on your attack roll) but otherwise can be picked up from the target square or are recovered automatically when the area is searched.

How is that for a simple compromise?

I kept the ruling as is in the NA original rules, but added an optional rule:

Thrown Weapons
If you want to allow ╍* weapons to be regainable after a ranged attack has been made with them you can use thrown weapon markers that are put into the square the attacked villain last occupied or is still occupying immediately after you have attacked. Any hero who ends their move in that square finds the thrown weapon and is given the Equipment card. If the attacked villain moves out of the attacking hero's line of sight after the ranged attack the weapon is stolen and lost.

*insert the thrown icon here. It's also listed on the according equipment cards

I like that rule because it makes bigger weapons harder to loose (break). The rivised version of losing them on all shields would make it happen too often and it would be worth having them.

I did it a slightly more complicated way because I didn't want to start messing around with the equipment prices. A hand axe and spear are both 150gp, so the way I've done it the hand axe is a specialised throwing weapon and the spear is a versitiles weapon that can be thrown but stands more chance of breaking.

In which case I may stick with my original rule then!

For that gem and others follow the link in my signature to my full set of house rules (I say 'full' but obviously they are continually being play tested and tweaked and added to)

EDIT: I later realised that both my versions of my rule also meant that larger, more expensive weapons were less likely to be lost, so sticking with the second version

Thrown weapons are lost if you miss (roll all shields on your attack roll) but otherwise can be picked up from the target square or are recovered automatically when the area is searched.
