Encounter Packs

I was sorting through my HeroQuest files in preparation for this weekends games when I found some encounter packs that I had actually made print ready. I've got crap tons of these encounters but was, frankly, surprised I had nicely formatted these two locations.

Here's the PDFs for anyone to use what they want from. The maps are Paizo's flip mats. These are pretty old as I've only used HeroicMaps for a few years. Maybe I've put them up here before and just forgot, but I just now generated the pdf from the original word files.

Wow these are so cool. Love the one where the heroes are considering that they've probably faced every enemy, then suddenly a kraken erupts through the floor! In the last waterfront one there is a reference to a "quest card" when they discover a sorcerer sent chaos warriors to kill them. Are these on here somewhere? They seem like a great idea

I'll have to read through them later - getting ready for a birthday party right now (the new 4 year old).
I wanted to say, though, these LOOK wonderful. Beautifully formatted.

No, they're not.

Since I use an open world system for the Heroes they have many options at any given point for where they want to travel or what they want to do. So it'd be really hard to remember what quests they have available and where they are at without a system to track it. My system is quest cards. At any given moment the group has a handful of these cards, they reflect both the current Quest Pack the Heroes are on and any story threads (like this one) that the Heroes may have come across during their travels. It makes it easy for them to look at where they are currently adventuring and see if they have any other odds and ends to explore while they're in the area.

Here's the quest card for the quest you mentioned:

This has been a fun and easy system for us to use to "explore the world" with.

Dear clmckay, you have delivered a little masterpiece here. Thanks a lot!

Would you consider to make those quest cards available in a zip file? I recently nerded a grid on to a 100MB world map just because I had no clue how to track the quests the heroes have already found.
Now you come around the corner with this solution that is just great! I'd love to see them, even if it just an excel table of yours... Thanks a lot! |_P

Yeah it's a game that has nearly 30 years there is nothing new anymore right? |_P |_P

Hi Anderas,

I'm glad you like it. Here's the canon quests, there's no point in the all the custom content cards, I suppose. I'm sure you can make some more beautiful looking cards than I! Since I just made these for my table I'm sure there are spelling errors aplenty.

I also included a quick and dirty XLS outlining the story branches I made. I hope you can get some benefit from these.

EDIT: I consider "A Plague of Zombies" canon. I forgot to put it's card into the above ZIP file. So here it is:
