Gaming-Con Quest Pack (Small)

Postby Decipher » Friday July 31st, 2015 5:34am

These are the three Quests I made custom for a gaming convention earlier this year. Now, these arent anything special, but I had to make each Quest play quick, challenging and balanced. I also had to make the descriptions noobie proof because I didn't know if other people would want to host a session. The first one is an introductory because I had a feeling I would have both veteran HQ players and noobies and I did. The second and third are pretty decent. Sorry for any errors or typos.

Looks like you did a good job of doing what you intended - short quests that expose players to many elements of the game. How were they received by the participants?

Pretty awesome. The second Quest is a little rough but if they get thru it, they should have enough equipment and gold to purchase more for the third one. The best part is watching the veteran players relive their childhood, some of the older guys said they hadn't played since 1990-1991 and they were so pumped about playing again. The young "kids" thought HQ was as good if not better than the table top games out now.

These are excellent Quests, and beautifully formatted, Decipher!

I like that they are made as quick "pick-up" games :)

What program did you use for the Quest notes?

|_P Thanks! Made the Quest map with Hero Scribe, everything else is done with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I actually used the original Quest book in the background to line everything up. If you have photoshop I can let you have the file.

Open this up in photoshop, paste your Hero Scribe Quest Map at the top, edit the text, print.

Template: http://www.mediafire.com/download/5h4dh ... -final.zip

I also included a Chaos Warlock icon to put on the Quest map. I always wondered why there is no monster card or icon for him.

The template is great!! I've been looking for high res scans so I could create a Photoshop template, pretty much exactly like the one you posted here. This will save lots of time! Thanks for sharing!!

Any chance you could post a template with all the wandering monster icons??

Oh, and why the circled "A" and "B" icons on the template?
It's like a new pair of underwear; at first it's constrictive, but after a while it becomes a part of you. I have to go...

Done, added to the template file, updated and posted the link above.

I redone the template and re-uploaded it to the original post above. The download link above is now correct.
