Here i'll share with you some of my quests which we're playing at the Play-by-post section (here) with some houserules.

1st QUEST

“Trapped in the Dark

The Tunnels. Abandoned underground passages that, according to a tale, have been dwelled again for a purpose. Your thirst for exploration pushed you in the dark without a second thought. You found some footprints of Kobolds and you followed them. But the deeper you were going, the more footsteps you were finding. Suddenly, the ceiling behind you collapsed, blocking your way back! Now, you have to pass through the creatures for the exit you are searching.”

Heroes begin the quest from the marked squares X.

A. This gargoyle is a statue of a Kobold God. Heroes must discover it by themselves. It is unharmed and awakes when a Holy Gem is stolen.

B. When the Fimir is being attacked the secret door opens immediately revealing the contents of the room. If it is not attacked you can open it in your turn.

C. The fimir may cast the chaos spell “Command” at once. The chest contains a Holy Gem worth 100 gold coins. It is found in the Tunnels by Kobolds, who enchant their items to be protected by the gods.

D. The stairways lead to the surface. Another Holy Gem lies inside the room with the stone door. If the Gargoyle is killed, it can be resurrected by the gods and fight again with full life when the jem is found.

2nd QUEST

“The Sleeping Giant

Everyone is afraid of the sleeping giant, even the greenskins who live in the same lair with him. After the raids, he is counting his treasure again and again until he falls asleep. This is the moment where you must act quickly and get inside to bring back the stolen Emperor's chest, which contains something valuable. The reward is 150 gold coins. If you manage to kill the giant, you will get 100 gold coins extra.”

A. This empty cupboard is trapped with poisonous gas. If opened without disarmed, inflicts 1 Body point of damage to all heroes inside the room (lost B.p. from poison may be healed only from poison antidotes)

B. “The sleeping giant! He just fell asleep..” He rolls 1 red die when someone steals his treasure. He awakes with: 6 (1 furniture searched), 5/6 (2 furniture searched), 4/5/6 (3 furniture searched).

C. On the first treasure search everything is revealed but the hero may choose 1 of the 3. In that point the heroes may be informed about giant's awake rolls (note B): Weapon's rack=1 spear, northern chest=ashes of the Emperor's mother, 1 hero must carry the chest to the stairway (movement,attack,defense=-1 die, cannot be traded), southern chest=100 gold coins+1 potion of defense. 1 treasure search is required for each of the rest 2.

D. This door opens only from the other side (corridor's side).

E. The first hero who searches in that room for treasure, finds a random elf spell in the bookcase.

Bottomless Chasm Room Tile (from Frozen Horror), Cliff Corridor Tile (from Keller's Keep), 4 Coffin Tiles (from Return of the Witch Lord), 1 Closed Double Door (from Ye Olde Inn), 1 Open Double Door, 2 Ice Tunnel Tiles (from FH), 1 Metal Entrance and 1 Wooden Exit Door (from KK or RotWL), Mine Tiles (2 Curves, Dead End, End of Mine, 2 Mine Carts, Y-track, 2 Straight Tracks, from Ye Olde Inn), Pit of Chaos Tile (from Against the Ogre Horde), 1 Portcullis (from Mage of the Mirror), 1 Sorcerer's Room Tile (from AtOH), 2 long and 1 short Stairway Tiles (from KK), 1 Stone Door (from AtOH), 2 Surface Tiles (from AtOH), 9 Thick Vegetation Tiles*, 1 Trap Door (from KK or RotWL)

* may be created from Dense Forest Tile (from Ye Olde Inn)

That giant looks quite tough. :mrgreen:

So when's Q3 start? Magnus now has smoke coming out of his ears. I'm getting worried about him.

3rd QUEST

“Silence of the Dead

Your next adventure takes place in the Forest of Whispers. Catacombs full of gold and holy artifacts are hidden inside as well as a tribe of Kobolds
who discovered you and now seek revenge. You have managed to find a catacomb and close its stonedoor behind you. The silence here is deafening
but not for long. Hurry and find another exit, this stonedoor may not last long against the Kobold horde!”


A. When this door opens, Zargon, at the beginning of your next turn, you may summon 1 mummy on the coffin. Each coffin summons 1 mummy maximum.
Warn the heroes when searching for traps: “You feel the presence of the dead..”

B. This mummy may cast the following spells: “Fear” and “Ball of Flame”. The following 2 artifacts will be found in the tomb when the 1st hero searches for
treasure: “Holy Water” and “Magical Throwing Dagger”.

C. The chest contains 200 gold coins and 1 healing potion.

D. Heroes' starting point.
When the 15th round completes, the entrance door smashes and the Kobolds may hunt the heroes. 1 kobold per round enters the dungeon.
Extra Kobold=Zargon spends 1 chaos token.

That was a nice quest. I really liked it when we got to the central room and we were fighting all those plus the zombie from the corridor and mummy from the coffin at the same time.

How come I never got a potion of healing from that chest? I was wondering what you meant when you said both treasures are from the chest.

4th QUEST

On Mountain Tops
“North of the Forest of Whispers, lies a mountain range which hides the fortress of the Orc Shaman, the leader of nearby greenskin tribes. He is responsible for the dark force's presence into the Forest, which attracts any evil creature to join his army. The Emperor has ordered his elimination before it is too late, offering 200 gold coins. Thus, you climbed the mountain tops, you fought with wild beasts and finally found the fortress. You slept the guards and now you are pulling the gate..”

A. Those squares are linked by a tunnel. The first Hero who lands on the wooden trap door (inside the fortress) immediately moves to the icy hole, outside the fortress. The connecting tunnel is dangerous and the hero must roll 1 combat die. If he rolls a skull, he loses 1 Body Point. After moving to the other side, the Hero's turn is over. Then the tunnel collapses and can't be used again.

B. When this door opens, it closes again at the end of the player's turn. But, when a figure stands on this square (B), the door opens automatically and remains opened until the figure moves.

C. When the first hero passes the doorway, a portcullis closes behind him immediately. It cannot be opened.

D. The first Hero who searches for treasure in this room will find the Artifact “Orc's Bane”.

E. Orc Shaman. Body:4, Mind:5, Attack:3, Defense:4, Movement:7, 4 Spells: “Tempest”, “Shield of Protection”, “Orc Berserker” and “Summon Orcs” (summons the guards – 2 orcs). The Orc Shaman may use the Dark Force if the room D is opened. Zargon spends 1 token and the Shaman may cast 2 spells instead of 1.
The chest is trapped with poisonous gas. If opened without disarmed, any figure in the room loses 1 Body Point. It contains 60 Gold coins and 1 Potion of Restoration.

The Hunt
“After the Orc Shaman's defeat, the fading dark influence made the greenskins run away and hide again. But their fury remains until they find you. After a long rest in the city you have decided to continue the adventure. But you have first to cross again the Forest of Whispers if you want to reach the eastern lands, where many tales have been told. Good luck and don't forget: the hunt has begun!”

A. This wandering monster ambushes the last hero who pass/leave this square.

B. These squares are covered with Thick Vegetation (it cuts Line of Sight). A hero shall stand on a TV square and spend an action to clear it and open LoS. Then his turn is over. Once a hero steps on a TV square his movement is over and then performs his “clearing” action (mandatory action). Monsters may not clear TV squares but they may hide inside. A hidden monster may not attack. A hero may not hide. Zargon may summon a wandering monster from a TV square when he draws a wandering monster card. If a hero clears a TV square with a hidden monster, that monster is lost from the board.

C. Surface Tile. The x squares are on a higher level than the rest ones. If a hero jumps to the lower level than using the stairs, he must roll 1 combat die. On a skull he loses 1 B.P. and his turn ends. The same rule applies to all monsters except Mounted Goblins.
Any figure on the lower level may not “see” beyond the x squares of the upper level.

When a Mounted Goblin is killed, hero chooses his loot between:
75 g.c. OR 15 g.c.+1 treasure card.

Information for Heroes, read it aloud.

I have some feedback, though I haven't gotten a chance to read the PBPs yet.

Quest 4
Is that a long pit in the double corridor north of the entrance/exit?

Did you really use a Polar Warbear outside of the fortress?! Did it get to attack anyone, and if so, what was the result?

Quest 5
I'm looking forward to reading in the PBP how the Goblin Wolfriders performed. It's good to see them in an outdoor Quest. Seeing those thick vegetation tile icons makes me wonder if anyone has created some actual vegetation tiles for Hero Quest yet.

These look very good. I'm concerned I'll forget about them and never find them. Shouldn't this thread have a [quest] in the title? Can we get that change applied.
