I'd change focus to let them use a shield to roll defense instead of 1 constant defense. Losing the shield is a heavy price. Unless I only had 3 body, I don't know I'd ever lose the shield for 1 body.

I liked the idea of a shield being lost, but I think you're right. Revising text to-

"This attack may be used against a single hero in a clear line of sight. That hero will lose 3 body points. If they possess a shield they can reduce the damage by the number of shields rolled on 3 combat dice."

Hmm, don't like my phrasing but it's the best I could think of.

I just had the monster break the door/wall down.

That works. Some other tricks:

A double door would allow Ethica's dragon to enter a double-wide corridor, possibly leading to a double-wide exit. A dragon freely flying outdoors shouldn't bode well for the Heroes.

I'd say since a Dragon has such a long neck, give it a 1 square reach ability. That way it could poke it's head through a regular door and into a single-square-wide corridor to let loose with a breath weapon.

Hi Folks,
I am new here and looking for some ideas having a dragon in heroquest.
Ethica, congrats to your rules. Do you have some experience in the meantime with your rules? Maybe also some updated pictures. The pics from the post are gone.

Looking forward for some nice ideas on this board.

We used a Dragon in one of our player group's gaming sessions (stats were created by the GM, not me):

Move: 12
Attack: 5
Defend: 6
Body: 9
Mind: ?

It had the ability to heal itself to full twice, could fly (essentially just like Veil of Mist, passing through Heroes), and could spew flames (equivalent to Firestorm, if memory serves, but could work in corridors, not affecting the Dragon itself... I presumed this was a limited use action, equivalent to casting spell). Needless to say this Dragon was guarding vast treasures.

Eventually we defeated it by trapping it in a black hole (it's a long story).

Source of the figure is one of those "miniature figures tubes" they sell on amazon, fantasy in this case:
(in the image he's next to the Paladin, similarly sized to the standard Heroes, for scale)

Here's 1 I found for £2

My preferred choice of dragon. The Dragon Strike Game Mini is similar to grey, the both fit the board better.

Your find reminds me of the Giant Claw! Here's a card I whipped up for old gray...
