The Professional Adventurer
This Hero may utilize any piece of equipment that any of the other Heroes may utilize up to and including specialized Artifacts and equipment.
This Hero Starts play with one scroll spell and one potion of the players choice. This scroll spell is considered to be ‘known’ by the Adventurer as a Spell, not a scroll therefore once the ‘spell’ has been chosen this is the spell that this character will always start a quest with. Thus, potions, items and spells that allow a spell caster to store or replenish spells will be of benefit to this character.
If holding a shield or two-handed weapon (other than a staff) the Adventurer must drop the items to cast any spells known. If in Plate armor this character may not cast their spells.
This Hero starts play with a dagger.
Attack 1
Defense 2
Body 4
Mind 5
Move 2D6

(This Character may learn Spells piecemeal and in no particular order if advanced characters are used.)

Edit: spelling in title and clarification of one line.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Reminds me of the good old Dark Eye (first edition), where the "adventurer" was the standard player starter character. The typical young guy who went forth to find his fortune. An adventurer could later develop into a warrior (but not into a wizard - you are born with magical talent or you'llnever have it - and obviousely not into another race). They dropped this class in later editions, but I still miss it... :(
Have a look ;)
