Ideas for this quest treasure

Postby Ethica » November 12th, 2011, 6:43 am

I have this nice picture for a cool quest treasure but can't think of a decent idea of what it could be. Any suggestions?

To me, it would be an ancient artifact, written in an old language that only the wizard could read. It will reveal him secrets about the magic and allow him to get a unique powerfull spell.
It could also be a good recipe to cook orc's flesh into a delicious soup :p

I like the idea of 1 powerful spell. Perhaps taking a number of turns to conjure.

You have found a rare out of print recipie book that focuses on the preparation of Dragon meat.
Surely this tome will fetch 300 gold from the royal cook.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

That's a really great image. Would you mind sending me a copy of it?

Perhaps you can have the image available in the Artchives section so we can all use?

I would say that this book gives you access to one of the weaker spells, like swift wind, or perhaps even a weak "evil" spell. Also, this spell is not one use only, but can be used every second/third turn...you can keep track of this by turning or flipping the card in different ways.

You could make it a book of weak spells...either weak spells from the game system, or some you made
up. BUT...the wizard who wrote them wasn't very skilled, and it takes a turn or two to actually cast them,
as you have to read as you cast...he took the long way around for the spells. hehehehe

Maybe give five or six weak spells that can be used each quest...that way it is an actual book and something
really neat, but nothing that would overpower the wizard too much.

Everybody knows the Wizard is weak. Make it a book that breaks the limit of 9 spells, increasing it by 3 more that are derived from a new spell group of your selection. Award it whenever you feel is the right time for a power-up.
