a few 2021 version custom cards

Howdy --

I thought these might be of some interested to the community / I'm pretty happy with how the turned out. My crew of players don't love complexity, so I shied away from coloured dice and fate points and additional stats -- everything is handled passively, through one-time play cards, or through spending mind points.

None of the art is mine; it's taken from hours scouring the internet for suitable pictures, and then turning them into Heroquest-style art using Inkscape. I scanned the cards myself and made a .psd template which I would be happy to share if anyone else would like to have their hand at it, though it may be slightly indecipherable to anyone's brain but mine. The cards use the font "CarterSans" (bold and regular) with varitions on italics. Photoshop faux-bold fits better in some places than natural bold, and sometimes you want both.

The colouring is slightly off; my screen didn't match with reality. I printed them with makeplayingcards.com.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing your ideas!

At 14 meaningful posts you'll become a Champion and can post attachments here and gain access to cool stuff.

Will you be sharing the cards for others who might like to print them? I like the choices.

I would be happy to share my .psd that's set up with all the cards and the template to make more. They are huge .tiff files (for printing) so not sure where I could upload them all? But again, I've stalked this forum for so long and absorbed so many ideas that I would love to let the community have them, if they'd like.

edit:
I've uploaded all the tiffs to imgur, for anyone to use or re-imagine as they'd like: https://imgur.com/a/31KOSYA

And here's a link to the psd file: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x8vp7nqsfj5v ... DSxka?dl=0

Just an FYI, Imgur degrades images to 72 dpi, so you don't want to upload anything to their site that you will be printing.

Thanks for the PSD File! Great job on the parchment, mine was becoming too bright and yellow. I also tried to get that printing pattern out, but by doing that it was losing it's sharpness.

I love the keg of wine as weapon :D

The easiest way to share is to put everything in a zip and then upload to dropbox or gdrive or whichever

I'll do that later, put it in the same folder as the psd.

And that keg weapon was mostly a joke I made for my buddy who brews his own. It's a fun early game artifact but wears out (2h for 3 dice is bad). I like to give artifacts with little effects to players early on in campaigns, even ones weaker than normal equipment. I think it helps keep them engaged.

Were these cards placed into the dropbox folder? I looked and did not see them. I think they would be great for expanding my game!

(This is a late reply; I'm very sorry)

All the cards were contained in the .psd file, but I have now included them as .tiff files as well (front and back).

Does anybody have blank parchment versions of the spells / equipment / artifacts /etc. preferably in png or jpg format. i.e. Just the black border, box for the image and no text whatsoever?

Thanks.
