Here are the Reaper miniature replacements for the Chaos Alchemists (Wizards of Morcar).
Paints used: Apple Barrel acrylics
Bases: uxcell plastic end caps

Figures used:

89038 Oloch, Iconic Warpriest = Orc Alchemist (Orc Shaman replacement)
77160 Judas Bloodspire, Vampire = Vampire (Necromancer replacement)
77419 Balthon, Evil Cleric = Chaos Master (High Mage replacement)
77215 Eregris Darkfathom = Elementalist (Storm Master replacement)

77324 Frost Devil ("Ice Devil") = Chaos Mutant (skeleton replacement)

To those replying with the explanation, Pancho, Torilen, yeah, we know all that, I've seen some documentaries on D&D and the hate, fear it had from many back in the day, that card game too. However that isn't the issue, It's being OK with Goblins, Skeletons and all other things HeroQuest related that are still very Magical, it's being OK to overlook one but not the other. Just the spell deck. Usually those that appose, appose it in completeness. Anyways, lets not sidetrack the thread too much debating that, It is what it is.

Lets focus on it like it's just a reskin... sorry, recasting of the initial idea. It didn't really need the reason.

Yeah. You have the various creatures that just have their own inherent preternatural abilities. Anything that is unseen, manipulating some spiritual supernatural power, that's a no go. But some kind of exotic radiation effects, akin to something from a golden age comic book? Shaky science at the borders of human knowledge? Fair game. All it takes is a little imagination to make most stuff compatible. Nobody need down a Potion of Nerd Rage, obviously, nobody is forcing anyone to use these, just sharing for the sake of creativity like always. |_P

This idea sounds like a lot of fun. I think it would make for a great start to a Steam Punk setting.

I thought the artwork for the Darkness Spells kind of reminds me of the alien symbiotes from Spider-Man. So I'm going to go with that. The Alchemist concocted another life form in the lab, perhaps a relative of a slime, and now it serves him...

I like the idea that the "Arrows of Night" thing upgrades, so I think I'll make it a 3 Dice "skill" for champions as the picture suggests.

The idea being that these are "dumbed down" for the more common Hero.
