New Equipment

Some new equipment cards for anyone who wants them. I'm taking them out of my quest pack thread because it's tidier. The costs aren't finalised yet, neither are the card pics. If you don't want to add too much stuff then leaving out the light and heavy crossbow, the short and long bows and the bastard sword as well as anything more I end up adding would give a nice mix. Another option is to shuffle the cards and deal out a certain available amount each time.

To replace the hand axe that attacks with three dice.

Katanas are things of beauty. I was thinking half defence dice rounding up and D3 BP damage to remotely do it justice, maybe if you pay a fortune to get it properly sharpened.

All in all a pretty "logical" evolution of the existing armory |_P

The only thing I have any objections against is the wizard-exclusive equipment.
As I read through all the items it struck me that these items are turning the wizard more into a warrior.
Now, I know the original game also gave him armor and weapons... And I get the gist that these items are simply supposed to stretch the power climb of the heroes... But I would love to see some armory items that played more into his role as a spellcaster/supporter.

An Ember Wand with unlimited small fireballs (basically a 1 die bow I guess)
An expensive wizard staff that allowed an extra spell slot.

I dunno... stuff like that. I know these kind of items has more of a place among Artifacts, but it would be nice for some spellcaster items for the wizard to save up for.

:2cents: ;)

Thanks, there maybe too much for one go though. Of course people can just take some of them but I'm going to out them in three groups, standard, intermediate and advanced. That will fit nicely into my quest pack as well then. I'm going to add a mace and flail, three attack dice and target rolls -1 defence dice and the flail can attack diagonally, not usable for the elf. Also an alchemy kit for intermediate for whenever they come across an alchemist's bench, roll a combat dice, skull = fail, white shield = random potion, black shield = a mystery potion that's randomised when it's drunk. Maybe a scribe kit for advanced so they can make scrolls as well.

I'm used to him using borin's armour and the spirit blade, that's perfectly okay in the UK rules so I don't see it as a problem, it's only one extra attack dice, still max two for diagonal. Bracers and cloak of protection replace borins armour (I had the 1st edition) and the wizards sword replaces the spirit blade.

That's exactly why I haven't done that yet, they're more like artefacts but some generic stuff that isn't unique like wands for certain spells that maybe work on a skull, can't be used for the rest of the quest on a white shield and can't be used ever again on a black shield. Scrolls should also be buyable, I just need to price all the spells.
