GimmeYerGold's Expanded Armory

My previous armory ( viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2224 ) featured a customizable equipment upgrade and proficiency system; however, all advancements in this expanded armory are equipment-based. I also wanted to add more items exclusively usable by magic-users, for instance, the new heroes I've added, the Monk and the Bard. So now, here we are, 24 total armory items!

Also, here's a breakdown of what tiers each piece of equipment (and potions from the expansions) would hypothetically belong to:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Tier 1 is available during quests 1-3
Tier 1 and Tier 2 is available during quests 4-6
Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 is available during quests 7-9
Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 is available after quest 10, and so on.

I wrap up my current campaign this weekend. All the playtesting has been invaluable! Afterwards, I will post all my custom cards, rules, etc. here in one place for your use, or further customization. All the additions have been based on balancing the game, and have been an answer to what my 6(!!!) players have wanted out of their HQ experience. Looking forward to "finalizing" it to the best of my ability, and sharing it with you guys here :D

Nice work! I do think the skeleton key and grappling hook should be more expensive. At least more so than the toolkit, which only gives you 50% chance. 250g versus 300g? I'd save up a meager 50g and go for those 2 instead of the toolkit.

For sure! I've been inspired a lot by what everyone here at the Inn has contributed in their own rules--it's fun to test out new ideas, and it'll be nice to feel like I've finally fine-tuned my own contributions enough to give something back to the community.

Good point! Maybe 200 gold each for the skeleton key and grappling hook? I did notice not a single one of my heroes has bought a toolkit after 13 quests (they'd rather just risk the damage and get the loot!) but a specialization "branch" in either type of trap disarming might be appealing for them.

Overall, "branches" was a theme in this new armory. Getting a certain perk, in exchange for another. For instance, the idea of wield a more useful/powerful weapon, at the forefit of holding a shield.

Very excited for the expanded rules! I like the bomb where if you get hit with a fire spell it goes off. It'd be interesting to have things like if you have to swim or get wet it is useless. I saw someone here previously with firearms so maybe you could apply the same rules to them too...

Where are these library spells? I'm interested to see what those are.

Library Spells: The Library spell group contains 6 powerful spells. Before each and every Quest, a Hero carrying a Spell Book may select one spell from this spell group. If more than one Hero is carrying a spell book, each of those Heroes roll one red die: the Hero with the highest roll chooses first, the second highest next, and so on.

I used Patroclus' colored version of the Gary Chalk spell book.

Modified version of the WoM's lightning spell.

Potion of Vision, as a spell.

Basically "Spirit of Vengeance" from WoM, with a MST3K twist :)

Image
WoM Dispell, plus an added feature in case you don't run into a spellcaster.

My group was interested in area effect spells, so this my attempt at a not-too overly powerful room spell.

I accidentally uploaded these at full size, but in case you want to download them now, there you are! :D

Wow! That's awesome!!!

I'll look forward to seeing those!

I love custom made cards. I sprinkle them into quests to add variety. That looks like an awesome set-up!
