The pass/fail combat system not only works, but it works awesome. I've been using it off and on for years.

Also, I will be including new cards (soon).

@daedalus: if you kill the Heroes often enough, thus mitigating their gains from prior quests, there is little need to actually scale the damage.

Another optional rule, that makes utter sense, is to change all forms of armor to "stack." Basically, Plate-mail (basically just a breastplate) only gives you 1 extra defense die and stacks with the mail hauberk. Also, the Dwarf is unaffected by the movement penalty.

Same. I've been wanting to beef up the Evil Wizard's involvement in the quests more. I like how these cards make him more of an active player and not just a passive dungeon designer with monster pawns.

I have been pretty sick for the last couple months' weeks. I'll do what I can. I'll entertain anyone that wants to supply ideas for more. Finding the right art is the worst of it.

Help me out with art for:

-Individual monster spawns (for revealed areas out of l-o-s)
-Hero automatically misses.
-Shield, Spear, and Crossbow monster upgrades.
-Spawn various traps.
-Change door destination (once).
-Gold gets stolen/broken.
-Potion gets stolen/broken.
-Equipment gets stolen/broken.

Okay, I converted all your cards into EU format (take a look), and added the RoadWarrior's ideas as well. I still need a good card for these ideas:

"Wounded" some hero gets hurt somehow, roll 1 combat die or something. 1D4 to choose a hero at random?
"Trap" when do you set off such a trap? And who gets affected? How many dice?
"Creeping Darkness" nice art with a hero with a torch being followed by monstrous shadows. I was thinking something along the lines of clearing a room in one turn, or a monsters pops up?
"Rust" one Hero's weapon gets damaged by rust and he loses 1 combat die in attacks, until he gets to a town inbetween quests to repair it for 25g
"Lost Loot" or something similar, where you find 10 gold, lost by some monster.
"Pickpocket" one of the heroes loses 50g by a thieving goblin
"Rats!", "Bats!" and "Spiders!" place a swarm of rats/bats/spiders. Similar to a wandering monster with its own stats on the card. After attacking, they scurry away.

Just some ideas. Thoughts?

As these are not random events, but outcomes of a malicious agency, they should not affect random heroes. I would prefer to wield them as my wont.

As for Bats, I figured they could be passive enemies that serve basically to gobble up line-of-sight.
