Artifact - Various Weapons

I have no names for these yet, but here are some of my ideas I'm saving for Quests. These are weapons, but some of these I may use for other Artifacts such as rings, medallions or even potions.

1) Attacks Mind Points. Cannot be used against Undead.

2) The Hero my choose up to 5 Combat dice to attack. For each Black Shield rolled, the Hero loses one Mind Point.

3) Rolls Combat dice plus two Red dice. If doubles are rolled on the two Red dice, each Skull scored counts as two Body Points of damage.

4) Attack strength of 4 (or 5) Combat dice. If all 4 (or 5) dice roll Skulls, a Death Blow is dealt to any regular Monster and they are instantly removed from the board. The Monster may not defend against a Death Blow.

I have a minor problem with #4. My first question is, "Do Gargoyles and Chaos Warriors constitute 'regular' monsters?"

My second issue is if you roll 4 or 5 combat dice, you're likely going to kill the monster anyway. I'm just saying...

Any Monster who does not have Stats listed in the Quest Notes I consider as a Regular Monster. So yes.

As for your second point, you are correct. But it does make a nice little additive since there is a slight chance that you may kill the monster instantly as it won't be defending at all if all skulls are rolled. Useful against Monsters from the BQP or the Ogres from the EQP. (I don't count the Ogres in the AtOH since their stats are listed in the Quest Notes. I like using the variable Body Points).

Not spectacular, it's true, but neither are Artifacts like the Orc's Bane once you receive it. With the Orc's Bane, unless you are adjacent to two different Orcs (which becomes unlikely after you get it) no one uses it since 3 or 4 dice on one Orc is better than 2 dice and then 2 dice against the same Orc.

Except, that when using Orc's bane on the same monster, it is counted as two separate attacks & the Orc (Zargon/Morcar) must decide which attack to defend against (per additional rules introduced in the EQP & BQP).

You're right, yet no one I've played with seems to use it after they have their Crossbow, Longsword and Battle Axe. Which is usually by the end of the Game System.
