Television down the crapper

Postby drathe » January 22nd, 2009, 12:07 am

Is it just me, or has television really gone to the dogs since the big "Writer's Strike". I only had a few shows I watched at that time, House MD, Bones & Heroes. Heroes totally crapped out after the amazing first season, like spicy curry through a colon. Bones still has some good stuff going on, but overall it's taken a nose dive. House MD... love the show, love the Main Characters (original cast), but can't get an interest hold on the new fellowship. The cases seem to have lost any big mystery that keep you glued to the screen. They don't go through the medicine anymore, and when was the last time House spent time in the clinic? That used to be one of the great highlights of the first few seasons.

I think I need to get into some new shows.
*Enters Phoenix with the push to Stargate SG-1 to whatever is playing now* Don't worry Phoenix, I'll get there this year. Just gotta get some extra cash to pick up the first season of SG-1.

Hey, it's a great show. What can I say?

Although, Stargate: Atlantis just concluded it's 5th and final season. There is a 3rd direct to DVD movie coming out for SG-1 and the first direct to DVD movie coming out for Atlantis sometime late summer. I can't wait!!!!!!!

But, I still think HOUSE is doing pretty well. I would like him to do some more clinical stuff and for cryin' out loud why don't they have him and cutty get together?

SPOILER: Can't wait to see how the one chick does as House's boss. That'll be interesting...

It does appear promising. I hope it doesn't turn out similar to when Foreman became his boss. Cameron does have more of a backbone though. *phalanges crossed*

Yeah, I remember the classic response in the Poker game episode when House turned around and saw her in that red dress.

 *gawwwwwwww!*

Some of you here will be pleased to know that I've picked up Stargate SG-1 season 1 today. Yep, that's right! Told you I would be getting it this year. Only took 11 months. It was on sale for $16 CDN. Plan on starting it this coming week. If I'm roped in, I'll be picking up the collectors edition that was at the swap shop (it's a brand new one :D ). Hopefully it's still there. :? Saw it last week and it was $170. I'll swap in the one I just picked up and get the set.

Heroes killed themselves by introducing to many characters at one time and never letting you see some characters ever again.
Wess, the black chick, and the dude that could breath under water.

Children don't have great shoes to remember anymore. All this new crap...
I saw a commercial on Nickelodeon called Chum Chum or something. What the heck?! What is a kid supposed to learn from a child in underwear blowing gum ball bubbles? Whatever happened to great shoes like Dinosaurs, and the Cosby Shoe?
Check out my new character: Halfling! I promise you will consider using it!

The vast majority of prime time shows are crime solvers, usually murders. The good old days are over. No one even plays board games anymore. It's a rare scene.

You're right. I'll be honest, these video games today! WOA BOY! They're crazy. I still think they should make HeroQuest and MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). The closest thing to a classic show NOW, is probably George Lopez, Everybody Hates Chris...that's about it. The world is almost completely brainwashed. it's up to us to stay sane for the world, and ourselves!
