We had Fraggles here too. It was also crazy popular. Even today you can start humming the base from the theme song to get peoples attention.
Dum dum dum DU DU dum dum dum DU DU...
When you start singing the first line you'll be guaranteed that at LEAST one person will give you the two claps!

Actually I don't know the words in English...The Danish goes:
Danse dagen lang *clap clap* Bekymre sig en anden gang - Syng så højt du kan *clap clap* Her i Fraggleland!

My most-favorite anime as an adult (not correcting stupidity with nostalgia) are as follows:

The Slayers (Next, Try, Revolutions and Evolution-R)
Berserk
Ranma 1/2
Blue Seed
Cowboy Bebop
Gatchaman CROWDS
Macross Plus

As far as manga goes, I like Berserk and anything written by Naoki Urasawa. His opus, "20th Century Boys", is the best work-of-fiction that I have ever read, just above Les Miserables and Watchmen.

Video-games-wise, Dark Souls is my favorite game. Final Fantasy 1-6 & 12 and Dragon Quest 1-9, Mother (Earthbound) games, anything developed by Camelot or Climax, anything developed by Tri-Ace; also Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Suikoden and Wild ARMS. Also, Ys, about a third of the "Tales of" series--anything Megaten. The first couple of pokemons. Zelda 1, 2, LttP, LA, OoA/OoS and MC. Shadows Hearts 1 and 2. Front Mission 2,3 and 5. Phantasy Star 1 - 4 (even 3). Drakengard and NIER. Lost Odyssey. Breath of Fire 1-5.

As a kid back in the '80s, I lived in a bad neighborhood, so I watched a ton of cartoons: He-Man, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, Galaxy Rangers, Thundarr, Jayce, Care Bears, Voltron, Fat Albert, Dungeons & Dragons, Galtar, Robotech, Spiral Zone, Brave Star, and so on, and so forth, et al. I also lived in the San Fransisco bay area with geeky parents, so I was also exposed to the "Japanimation" culture. (Thank you US Navy and Coast Guard for all the bootlegs recordings) I seen a number of obscure titles as a kid - many of which I still don't know to this day - but it was a lanky space pirate (Captain Harlock) that really captured my imagination (a stoic good-guy rebel pirate in space, with a cool gun-sword combo weapon and kickass spaceship). As they there all subs, I had a hard time following them - I just watched the action.

In the US, Maya the Bee came out in the early '90s, on Nickelodeon, and while on preschool hours called Nick Jr. Beyond their own animated programs (Doug, Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, etc.), they had an odd assortment of shows from around the world, like Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Spartakus, David the Gnome, Little Prince of Outer Space, and so on. They were quit enjoyable, and I highly recommend them - if you can find them.

WOW just WOW   8-) :D this stuff roolz.
I remember when mum and dad got our very first colour television, which by the way was round about the late 70's - 80. The shows were boringly average and we weren't really allowed to watch much telly. A couple of years later dad brought home our first VCR which was VHS format .... :o hooly crooly .... all of a sudden the reception was clearer AND we could get channel 2. Very quickly my brother and I discovered that there were cartoons early on Saturday mornings and about 4.30 through the week channel 2 had the best cartoons (anime) on any channel. Some of the best ones were Star Blazers (Space Battleship YAMATO), VOLTRON, Astroboy, G-FORCE-Battle Of The Planets, MACROSS and a couple of others that featured fighting suits that changed to all sorts of stuff, the ubiquitous TRANSFORMERS and of course the old favourite ....... THUNDERBIRDS
I think I had a pretty privileged childhood :D and I still remembered the name of Tiny and BE-BOP from G-force
aaaannd just for the record
