Unfortunately, the things I want to print won't come out correctly on 8½"x11" sheets. Where could I go to find some A4, preferably in a thicker weight? Would this be something that I have to special order from a print shop?-

A4 available in the US?

So much of the content here is formatted to print on European standard sized paper. I took a trip to Staples and they only carry US letter size Unfortunately, the things I want to print won't come out correctly on 8½"x11" sheets. Where could I go to find some A4, preferably in a thicker weight? Would this be something that I have to special order from a print shop?

I'm not sure. Now I'm curious at the difference:
Letter = 8.5x11 inch = 21,6cm x 27,9cm
A4 = 21cm x 29,7cm
Quite a difference... If all the EU booklets/sheets in PDF have some spare margin at the top and bottom, you should be able to print them off 100%. Don't resize but do center the print in your printer menu. I'm sure most stuff here has 1 cm to spare at top and bottom.
