The paints I use are a cheap brand called Folkart, by a company called Plaid. They come in 2 fluid ounce (60 ml.) bottles worth about a dollar each, and are sold at Walmart. They are serviceable and comes in a good range of colors. They are a little thicker, but wetting the brush helps. They have no inks, the metallics are not as shinny, but they have weather-proof paints (same bottles, but cost a little more). I still have and use Citadel paints, but I have not bought them in years as the containers gets smaller, while the prices go higher.
I buy whatever grey spray primer is available.
My brushes are old, but are still good (I should get more). Art stores usually keep a good stock of fine-point brushes.
I use a hobby-drill and precision screwdrivers for drilling (I like to convert my plastic figures with interchangeable weapons).
For gravel (for grass and sand effects), I use kitty-litter (not used, of course). I can crush them down into different sizes, and even wet them down to blend them out a bit (if it clump).
I go through X-Acto blades like socks, as I am really abusive with them - using them to file, scrape, pry and even as a fine-point screwdriver. Hell, I use them in ways totally unrelated to hobbies!
I am always in desperate need of green-stuff!
There are no hobby shops in my area, and I cant make online purchases, so I have to work with whatever I have an hand.
