The horns are a bit too pale in my opinion. Start with a light brown near the helmet and blend to white.

That's just the flash being too bright. I've blended them from graveyard earth to bleached bone, so there is definitely colouring there, but the flash makes it all white.
I'll shade them tomorrow if I can, and paint the rim of the bases black, and when they've dried I can varnish them.
On to the chaos sorcerers!

and that painting looks so cool! :D

But all in all fully acceptable as is :)

Here is an updated WIP of the painting:
...

Gratz Goblin-King, very impressed. I can’t paint like this on real canvas and I know how difficult it is. The only thing that missing is the classical white outline on the very dark areas to give more depth.

Actually I DO use this technique. The dark areas has very light brown - which the blitz totally erased! :p

by the way, funny story... I once tried painting on canvas and I sucked so hard. Then I started playing Warhammer Fantasy. Slowly I learned to paint miniatures. Then one day I tried painting on canvas again and now this time it looked good in first try! I learned to paint by painting minis!

Some times people ask me if I've had any art-education. I answer "naah, I just played Warhammer as a kid"!

Also update! The brown edges are a little more visible here.

Awesome!! I'd add some shading though, but I like the grey!
My chaos guys are shaded, only need a matte varnish spray finish, and some daylight to make pictures. I hope next weekend ;)

Looks good. It's pretty bold to mix gray and metal like that, but I like it. Agree with Sjeng that a little more shading would be in place.
Have I inspired you to play with rust effects by the way? ;)

Actually no :?
I've used it before, but only on some skeletons, I don't think it looks appropriate on chaos warriors.
For these two I just copied a photo the guy gave me.

About the shading, you are both right, but in real life they look very nice. I just can't get a good photo. With a flash on, they look too bright and without they look dull.

We all know the curse of the annoying flash!
So it's a commission? :)
How much do you usually charge per mini?

well I can't say an exact price cause I only do this occasionally and in varying level and quantities but I would say $5-10 per figure.
