I don't even know how old I was, but I would guess around 8 or earlier. There was a copy of Heroquest, and a copy of Dragon Strike at my babysitter's house. I think there was even an expansion for Heroquest. I didn't play again until college when one of my dorm buildings turned out to have a copy of Heroquest that you could borrow by lending them your student ID. When the building closed down permanently they let me have the system. Since I accidentally raised the question of age, I am just freshly 27, and i still love these games.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

I was about 7 when I got this game, now my age is 15. I'm probably one of the youngest users here. ;) So baby face compared to you

One of the advantages about having kids is that you can get away with shopping for and playing with games and toys. I am not embarrased in the least when I post pics of our HQ games Facebook because I am being a good dad by playing with my kids, but the reality is that I own all of the games ;)

I was 10 yrs old when I got it for Christmas 1990.
Bought the expansions in chronological order as soon as they came out - from my own money.
We had two extensive gaming summer vacations in 1992 and 1993, addiction-like; playing through all expansions.

Sold the complete collection in 2005 after 10 years of not even touching it due to financial inability and a very intense lifestyle.
There were actually tears in my eyes when I packaged it to ship it, looking through all the pieces.

Never forgot the game, and last year - around summer 2011 - I started to read about the original and certain forums.
Got me hooked once again and had my girlfriend buy me a complete package with all European expansions for christmas 2011.

And here I am, 32 years old and yet a child...

Correct. I was 14 when I played HQ for the first time (1990). It got me started in fantasy gaming and shortly afterwards I played M.E.R.P. (based on Lord of the Rings), AD&D, Warhammer RPG,2 and Star Wars RPG.
I played those for 3 years or so (but I played them a LOT).

I love that story arc! The passion of youth, the shifting of priorities as an adult, the sense of loss and eventual redemption. It's cinematic in it's scope, and who can resist a happy ending?

I don't think so. If I had never known rpgs, and would come to witness a game of D&D or TDE now, I'm sure I'd be hooked, just as I was in 1984...
Have a look ;)

I was about 8 when my brother bought a second hand copy, back then i never saw such a coolest thing! I remember how cool the minis and furniture were, and i couldn't stop starring at the detail on the board like blood splatters, lost boot or broken sword and paper.. Ahh such good memories! I never played much tough. It's back in 2011 that i recently bought a copy and several expansion and started painting it. Can't get rid of this collecting fever now XD i'm 23 now.

I think I was either 3 or 4 my brother had a copy and i didn't start playing till about 4 or 5 I am 22 today! Most of the pieces got lost or broken by me years back but on one of my last days of my service mission (yes i am LDS) one of the people i worked with gave me his copy he was going to get rid of, Still have the old quest books from my brother most of the furniture and a few of the pieces, he also had The Return of the Witch Lord, I would love to get my hands on Kellers keep though I prefered the orcs over the undead i guess.
