Talisman 4th Edition

Postby DungeonDwarf » Thursday March 21st, 2019 12:56am

Hello. Just incase anyone is a fan of Talisman 4th Edition, there is apparently going to be a re-print of the 4th edition base game and all the expansions. So if you are missing that hard to find OOP expansion, you can pick it up new for a lot cheaper than used copies on ebay. The site I used expansions were $17-27 compared to eBay's $100+.

Just thought I'd share. Happy gaming.

Hey, that's some good news for people who like that game. You refer to a site, though, but could you also provide a link to it?

Oh, sorry about that Maurice76. www.miniaturemarket.com/ was taking preorders. There are probably other sites too that I'm not aware of. I'm sure in the not too distant future we'll see the re-prints popping up at other retailers.

I just saw that the US release of the new printings from Pegasus are delayed until Q2 2020.

I recently picked up a collection of 4th edition (converted base game from Black Industries) and 6 expansions (Reaper, Sacred Pool, Frostmarch, Dragon, Dungeon, Highlands) and am looking to get it to the table soon. Having played the app I'm familiar with the basic rules/strategy. It's a nice refresher for everyone to be a hero and on (somewhat) equal footing. Plus the minis are cool :)

So a word of caution on using too many expansions. I ran a game this past weekend with 5 players and used 3 of the smaller expansions. We ran into the issue of way too much gear and not enough monsters / negative effects to keep things interesting. Maybe it was our shuffling or luck of the draw or the characters we selected, but about halfway into the game it became a bit of a grind. I'm also disappointed that the reaper never landed on anyone the entire game :(
