I see there is various lore for the "Ogryn" in Warhammer 40K. They are actually mutant variants of humanity (much like the "squats" aka Space Dwarfs) who are not very intelligent but very strong, yet they are usually fighting for the Imperium, though there are also Chaos Ogryn (in the computer games they're bad guys).
I see how in the computer games they made the doorways take up two squares, so that characters could be standing in a doorway when the door is "closed" crushing them to death.
Locating the many German cards with high enough resolution to apply a translation has proven difficult but a few examples exist that are interesting...
The Eldar Weapons are called:
Shuriken Slingshot (Shuriken Launcher)
Holo Launcher (missile/rocket launcher)
Las-Thrower (Las cannon or laser rifle)
Melee is often simply referred to as "close combat."
Spaces are often rendered as "fields" but it's the same thing.
In the GSG-Tiger cards (Blood Angels) here's a card that reads:
Mini-Laser (picture of bolt pistol)
The Mini-Laser is a handier version of the standard laser specifically for close combat.
Shocker (picture of bolter)
Shocker. Can deliver electrical shocks at short distances that paralyze an opponent's will to attack.
In the GSG-Musketeer (Imperial Fists) cards there's a piece of equipment called a "Lifter" that lets the Heavy Weapon fighters move like those with bolters via anti-gravity suspension.
For GSG-Tiger Order cards (called "Command" cards):
Photon beam!
This command blinds and confuses Robotlings with an intense flash. Usually used before hand-to-hand combat.
(green side):
Each Chaos figure you attack in melee throws one white die less than normal. Remove the card after use.
In the Alien Event deck some cards are rendered slightly differently.
For example "Suicide Android" reads:
Suicide squad.
Any android blows itself up after dragging. Roll 2 red dice. Each piece on an adjacent square is attacked with full score.
(not sure what "dragging" is, that might be a limitation of the translation)
Super Crack Missiles (Eldar Attack) is called "Super Holo."
I believe the german rendering of the Alien Event card "Booby trap" is "Tripmine"
Tetmine
Target GSG fighter (not a commander) steps on a mine: Lead a holo launcher attack against the field he's standing on.
Though not using these StarQuest variant lore yet... we played our first MULTIPLAYER game of Space Crusade two nights ago. You can watch the REPLAY
here. GG!
