Yeah, I'm following this one too... Cannot quite bring myself to go for it (Gaming budget is way past a healthy level this year)... But I really "Want" it. Love the miniatures and Sci-Fi terrain bits especially.

Do you mean the devs handling of the KS project itself, or the way the game plays?

The way they handled updates was poor. The incompleteness of the adventures companion. Not a fan of the tile art. The hero cards don't have art on both sides. The search rules seen kinda weak. My pledge was delivered with one missing figure, which they did send me although it was a different material (harder plastic/ more fragile) than the rest so wasn't really happy about that. Verify disappointed by the additional digital content that has been released.

I haven't played very much of it yet... I like to have everything painted first. So I can't comment on much of the game play. It seems to play closer to Imperial Assault than Heroquest (I do really like Imperial Assault, although the power creep can be an issue) in which you rush to the end and try to avoid combat to beat the timer. I think I prefer dungeon crawls that have a "evil wizard" to allow for actual exploration rather than racing against a timer that the heroes cannot control. If you loose you just play the same map again. I guess I was expecting something different than what was delivered.

The furniture plastic was a different plastic than the figures and didn't accept the primer i use very well. Stayed tacky, once i applied paint to the primer they seem to be fine though.

I liked the fact that the figures were in sets of three which will allow me to use them in the dungeons and dragons adventure system game.

Sorry for the rambling hopefully this explained some of my thoughts.

Space Crusade was what was pulling me into wargames ultimatively. However, this Kickstarter would mean starting a whole new range of miniatures.
Middle aged / Fantasy games have the advantage of all being compatible with each other, as long as the models have roughly the same size. So i didn't hesitate at all to buy Conan as i knew that if i want, i can reuse the models for HQ or vice versa. If i want to play a zombie invasion on a HQ board, i just use the zombies delivered with Zombicide.

For the SciFi settings, the distinct design traits between the game systems are just overwhelmingly strong. So i couldn't reuse this line of models for 40k/Space Crusade or vice versa, no chance. I couldn't replace the evils of one of those flavors with my already painted 40k minis.

So even if this game concept generally is very attractive for me, it would mean opening a totally new set. Any work invested is not reuseable somewhere else. That'd be sad.

More so as Mantic's team is really professional in making a project and delivering it with a good ruleset and reasonably on time - just, i don't want to have another separated line of models. Moreover, i know that in my game club (the only place i can use my games, really), a non-painted line of minis wouldn't be accepted as much as a painted set.

So here i have to say, even if i want it, i don't buy it.
