G'day all,

I thought it was about time that HQ's big brother got a chance to come and play on the PC. Also includes a Scenario editor to create your own set piece battles. There is also an AI opponent to battle.

Looks cool. Curious though, why spiders instead of wolf riders?

Received just when cannon killed goblins and itself. Clicking ignore just keeps repeating same error. Must abort.

Would be nice to increase the window size to see more of the board at once.

The graphics were all done by Reiner at http://reinerstileset.4players.de/englisch.html.

He didn't have any Wolf riders and I thought that the Spiders were the next best thing for fast cavalry.

The error has been fixed. I've added a new link in the first post that contains just the patched EXE file. Simply place that file in your Battle Masters folder and overwrite the old file.

They do work well in the game. If I gets some spiders, perhaps I'll use them for my tabletop version too. Spiders are less likely to fall over. ;)

New update.

Now there is an AI opponent!

Added some sound effects and some music to the Scenario editor.

Added a Capture the flag hex for some Scenario variety.

Adjusted the Scenario editor to do more checks to ensure the Scenario is playable.

Eventually yes. In between working on projects like this and others, I have also been working on a quest editor for my HQ game. I'm not promising that it will be any time soon but rest assured that it is coming.

New update:

BM campaign games are now possible. Create branching storylines in the vein of Wing Commander with winning and losing paths. Tell the story of how Chaos came to power or how the Empire was lost.

Improved AI pathfinding so that AI units take stock of the battlefield.
