I had to go home at lunch today to work because of loud activity in the office. So I kicked-off the print. 2 hours later I had this!

Looking good. Might be easier to paint when printing the letters and base seperately though. That would also allow you to print the letters facing up, so that their contours come out cleaner (having the printer layers running along the letter edges might even fit the look).

I did not finish cleaning the attachment points for the supports so the lower edges are still very rough. It needs to be filed/sanded.

Painting should be easy enough. I'm more likely to ruin the piece gluing it afterwards.

Printers generally have better resolution for details when printing upright. I will try a flat version and see how it goes. I expect that you will be able to see the filament lines on the top layers.
