Central tile Printing

Postby keyansark » Tuesday July 28th, 2009 6:25am

Hi all:

I always loved this adventure (being an "official" version of the Skaven race in Heroquest) and I was delighted to see it recovered here, with an "semi-official" entry point (there was no Entrance in the WD version)

I wanted to know how must I print the chasm tile. I live in Spain so I use A4 pages. When I printed the page, telling Acrobat not to re-scale it, it results greater than the board area, so, how must it be re-scaled?

Thanks!

Most of the tiles, if not all, often require resizing or resampling in some form of graphics software before printing. Many printers and print managers confuse dpi and ppi. Let me know which tile you're wanting to print and I'll save it as a PDF in Photoshop so it'll print accurately. I've actually thought about doing so for all the tiles and include it with the ZIPs. That way those who want to print just the one tile can do so without hassle, while others can use the included JPG to create their own tile sheets for printing multiple tiles on a page.

You could also import it into a Word Document and print from there. As long as the tile fits within the margins, most Word Processors won't resize the image. If the image does happen to be resized for some unknown reason, you can format the image you've imported and adjust the size. HeroQuest tiles are on average 2.25cm (or 22.5mm) per square. Just count the squares up and down, or across and multiply. That's how I used to create my tile sheets before I started learning how to use Photoshop.

Thanks for the offer... I was referring to the tile included in this quest (Halls of Durrag-Dol), the Chasm to be included in the central part of the board.

Same thing should apply to the Inn of Chaos tile, by the way.

Yes, sorry. I meant which of the four Durrag-Dol tiles would you like to print? I'm assuming you're looking at the ones that Rob Capper made. I can do the Inn of Chaos as well. Which of those would you prefer? Also by Rob Capper I assume. I don't know of anyone else who has made tiles that fit those quests.

Another thought would be checking out Phoenix' Remastered Quests. He has reformatted all the published Quests in the style of the North American Quest Books. One of Rob's tiles for each Quest are included in his files ready to print for those two Quests. Just print the page the tile is on and voila!

If you'd rather a separate file for the tiles you prefer, I'll do them up as soon as I know which ones you'd like. I like to help. :D

Hi drathe:

Sorry for the confusion... I was referring to the packed quest by Phoenix. The central Chasm file appears at the end of the PDF, and this one prints at a bigger size than the board (at least in A4 pages)

I'll check your other sources, tough
